I’ll be disappointed if Haaland isn’t on a million pound a week by kick off. He seems to have been stuck on £900,000 for about three days now.

To be fair, since the "story" was released his wage/bonuses have increased...........perhaps thry are inflation linked?

How do you think we know roughly what Kevin de Bruyne’s salary is when it was negotiated without an agent?
I honestly think a lot of it is guess work. Rough details leak out in dribs and drabs. Perhaps a loose word here and there but not a systemic leak. Kev’s wife tells the hairdresser. Who knows? I used to know some players and they were always blabbing.

No we didn’t. Our average home attendance that season was around 27,000 and the capacity of Maine Road was around (iirc) 34,000 at the time, which is about 80% capacity. Another Maine Road myth, just like the false claim in that article that it was a cauldron every week.
The capacity was probably less than 34,000 in the third tier. I am not sure on the timings of the attempts to shoe-horn a few extra seats into Maine Road but I had the impression that the home support capacity was around 30,000 at the time.

The number of visiting supporters at the time was probably not high.

I understood that you could only get a ticket with a membership card. On my visits in the mid-1990s, I always asked a friend to get the tickets.

The interesting fact is that City were enjoying better support when struggling in the second and third tier than they were getting when around the top six of the PL under Peter Reid.

The media makes it sound that everyone tells everyone else how much they earn.
I don't know what my mate's earn and they don't know my salary.
As long as they buy a round when it's their turn who cares.
Your mates buy rounds? Ffs, I need to change my group of friends. All got deep pockets, but really short arms

First game of the season, Blackpool was 32,134. Not sure if that was the exact capacity but it was more or less full from memory.

Maine Road held just over 32k when we were in the third tier and away teams rarely brought even half a 3k allocation.
