The simple reason is that unpalatable as it is to some, the Saudis buy a helluva a lot of British goods and arms, keeping quite a few British people in well paid jobs! For our government (Conservative or Labour) would never risk this trade relationship by allowing the Premier League to block the deal. Once the Bein sports pirating issue was sorted (small fry to the Saudis) even the Qataris gave it their blessing!

Gary for all his postering as a future labour candidate is a little thick and naive!

The clubs should be explicit with the reporters before the press conference and tell them the manager will only answer football related questions. Any dissent will result in an immediate two week ban and the question will be ignored. If the press have questions regarding ownership or funding etc they should speak with the management of the club or the Premier League who have OK'd the owners via their own internal investigations and due diligence and have deemed them 'fit & proper' owners. In other words a very polite way of saying leave the politics out, stick to the football or just fuck off!
 
Is OK from the middle east to incest billions in London but if they challenge the more successful teams in England it's sportswashing and they are horrible people. Do u think anything would have been said if they would have invested in rags dippers or arsenal?

But they have invested in the rags & Arsenal. They have invested millions. It just never gets mentioned or simply brushed under the carpet. Absolute hypocrites. It's genuinely laughable.

Is he though? He's asking questions he knows full well he's not going to get answers to and wants answers from people who have no need or desire to respond

Sheffield United have Saudi ownership but nobody says anything about that because they’re no threat to the established order. The people who call out sports washing, human rights etc. really don’t give a shit about all that, they just don’t want their clubs challenged.

Hypocritical bollocks of the highest order.
