Whats the expression - success has many children but failure is an orphan…. Christ so many people jumping on the bandwagon and claiming it’s all down to them… we are a fickle nation….

Indeed.. England women rained on the gathering Liverpool media parade yesterday, didn't they?!

And not only that, they ensured that the BBC SPOTY Team and Coach Awards for 2022 will be heading in the direction of the women's game, rather than to the home of those loveable, insouciant scallywags beside the River Mersey.

At any rate, I rather doubt that the Scouse Red Filth from the other end of the East Lancs would be celebrating anything to do with England women's success at the Euros. After all, they have spent many, many generations (er.. really?!) informing us of their 'otherness' (again, er.. really?!) compared to the rest of us here in Blighty, given that they are, in fact, 'Scouse' and 'not English'..
Is blighty just Engerland then

Aldridge at it again "City fear Liverpool" headline , never ceases to amaze how illiterate clowns like him are given any credence , he's a wind up merchant who is now too old to back it up , a Scouser who remembers their 'istree with a tear in is eye after his tenth pint.
He's a well known drunk in Murkyside and a typical Dipper who comes out with garbage like this whilst sozzled in front of a keyboard , even the replies on the article from Dippers state how embarrassing Aldridge is , he's an insignificant , over the hill prick who should be put out to pasture.

I seen a post from a Brit living in Germany that those last 10 minutes were a disgrace for playing the game out. Me, I completely disagreed.
Cant have it both ways..meedja again..oh there's no time wasting or rolling about like the men!..then when it matters of course we do...meedja knobheads again just make shit up to suit their narrative

He doesn’t sit in front of a keyboard. He meets a journo in the pub and spouts some nonsense for the journo to transcribe into an article under Aldridge’s name.

Understandably lots of emotion in much of the reporting of the Women's game today, but I've seen little mention of the salary cap in the main stream media... though of course everyone is piling in, and sometimes non-sports reporters wading in too.

I think this is still the current state...
"...the FA imposes a salary cap on the WSL, whereby clubs can only spend up to 40 per cent of turnover on salaries, but no minimum salary exists".

They have to work on the business models to make each club sustainable and sort out their turnover. City have lost some decent players who go to clubs who pay more in France or wherever, though City are the best run club business wise in this country.

I don't know the details, but in the old days of boot money in other sports, they always found ways around salary caps. Sponsorship can help and presumably some creative individual accounting helps the player too, but unless clubs are as 'all in' as City with their women's teams, what can they expect. Clubs need a joined up business approach and some are catching up with City. Although we've lost a lot, the Spanish girls look like great additions. Let's hope Super Steph and the new girls can shine on the pitch this season.
Such a shame that Super Steph‘s injury cost her a place in the team/squad…no mention of her in the press either…

Not a big fan of agueros latest comments, bigging up van dicky, having a pop at city for selling sterling & warning Alverez about the weather

That first line doesn't make sense.
I'll try to explain. There's an organisation called 'the BBC', which stands for British Broadcasting Corporation. They make something called 'television' that involves moving pictures you can watch on a screen. With me so far?

As part of this, they do a 'breakfast show' that goes out on said television around breakfast time and where they talk about things going on in the world. This is presented by professional people who work for them but they usually have guests on. The manager of the City Women's team was one of those guests.
