Has there been any public outcry for the Qatari bid?

This is actual ’sports washing’ and if there is no outcry then everybody, not just City fans, are vindicated in their belief that it was all a ruse and just a stick to beat us with.

BBC fawning over utds takeover bids. Headline news apparently. Yawn. No mention of the huge amounts of money the Glazers have spent and just very a small mention about the Qatari human rights record and LGBT stance. Nothing to see here. Lol

It’s different now because all those migrant workers, LGBT, aah who are we kidding it’s Man Utd.

Just for a second forget the comedic double standards of oil rich Arabic countries with debatable human rights buying United. I keep reading after this they will have hundreds of millions for transfers? Why? Where is this transfer money coming from or are United allowed free reign over FFP and can spend the owners money direct?

They are setting the narrative very clearly he’s a banker and They won’t be state owned. It’s so funny watching them all literally rewrite their narrative they’ve been rolling out for us over the last 15 years overnight.
As much as people have a go at bankers for their “big bonuses” believe me there ain’t no fxxxn banker with 5bn free to spunk on a vanity project. Comical

And we'll still be "state owned and funded by oil".

I've been thinking the same. Al-Thani is being described as a banker "with links to the Qatari royal family" without mentioning that the Al-Thani family are the rulers of Qatar. So a bit more than "links".

We''ll never see Sheikh Mansour described as "a private investor with links to the Abu Dhabi royal family". City will continue to be state owned by a human rights abusing regime and having unlimited funds with which no other club can compete. .

See Chelsea for the answer to your question

They've also tried to 'Westernize' him as much as they can. I mean, does this look like a Middle Eastern man? No, so nothing to worry about!

I'm not even sure it's the right person, but they don't want to lose support for the bid now do they...

Yes, I mentioned that to the wife last night, I've not seen them print a picture yet of him in full Arab dress. I am presuming there's plenty out there.

I suspect he is just leading a consortium, no? His father is only worth 1.3 billion, so where is he getting the funds to buy United for 5-6-7 billion? A life time of banking? I can guess, but the owners test may be interesting ......

Edit: I hope he isn't using disguised equity funding to finance this. You know how the PL doesn't like that sort of thing.
