Meeting Re: Atmosphere

I think that we should have a song for each player and then we should sing the team sheet when it is announced. We could produce it properly, jazz it up and change it around as and when. Enen have the old singalong bouncing ball on the lyrics on the big screen. It would be great during the warm up and hopefully it would encourage people to keep singing during the game.

It's not the case that the club's "cheese" is drowning out an army of fans.

That kind of misses the point - the loudness of the cheese stops people from even attempting to sing over it because to do so would be pointless.

It's a catch 22, as you now have a situation where too many fans don't even bother to get inside the ground until right before kickoff because of how bad it is, making it difficult to build an atmosphere. Look at Spurs when they play big games. The ground is full ages before kickoff and due to the lack of cheese they build up a real atmosphere. It is very noticeable.

But only a small number sing anyway - the PA stops at Kick off and during the game it's always the same people who sing. When we've scored and we're flying it's a different matter

Support during the game when it's 1-1 or we're losing is when it matters, and I guarantee you then that it's only small groups who will support the team

Try it and see. Worth a go

they already know the answer,,,move the away fans to the
top of the 3rd tier, but they won't do it will they ??

I seem to remember that in the FA Cup QF v West Ham a few seasons ago they played a few 'Manchester' tracks then turned the PA off.

Really got the atmosphere going.

then we got battered.

Ashton was on fire that night. Will never forgive him.

The thing is how do we get the people singing again that used to, to be honest the constant moving of seats has not helped, in the old days!! we had a large group in the umbro that all got to know each other, we all took the piss out of each, had a right laugh and sang as loud as we could. Now being stuck in 302 the atmosphere is dreadful, apart from the lads i go with and a couple around us there are different people every game and no matter how anybody tries the majority dont join in, so inevitably we give in. Being up in 302 the atmosphere never really reaches us from other parts of the ground, sometimes i just think it needs a concerted effort by all to get the place going again. That bloody awful version of bluemoon at the start HAS TO GO, its actually depressing. I agree play up tempo songs until 10 minutes before kick off and then let the fans create the atmosphere, great idea but with 10 minutes to kick off the ground is half empty. Its obvious something needs doing but if a large amount of fans just cant be arsed i am not really sure what can be done

Spot on Marvin, people are either up for singing or they're not. Turning the PA off before kick off (when the majority are still talking and drinking on the concourse), creating a 'City end' or any other nonsense won't change anything.
