I'm sure there are singers up there, I'm not saying you're like the Famy Stand but compared to Level 1 singing areas, well, you're nowt like em.

nice back tracking, well done as you have done nothing but talk shit in this thread.

212 and 216 SING get that in your jumped up "i am a big blue" head.
What planet are you on where you pin-point me for talking "bullshit" when another fan has said "216 is where the atmosphere is at City" and i replied to him saying that compared to South Stand Level 1 (and the same over by the South/East corner L1 and 2) the Level 1 fans are a different breed to the L2 fans. THEY ARE! I've not said people in L2 (210-218) don't sing at all because you do, but you fucking certianly don't start songs off that go round the stadium and you aren't stood up all game like the L1 fans - hence why i said you're a diff breed of fans.

I don't stand or sit in any of these areas in question neither, my opinion comes from an unbiased source so your last comment is completely redundant. My part of the ground is shit for atmosphere but then i don't go comparing myself to the ONLY atmospheric parts of the ground worth talking about which are the East/South Corner Level1 and South Stand L1!

That's not bullshit, it's the truth. There's a difference - a huge one - between 100 fans who sing a lot and a whole section of 1500 fans who always sing every game.
216 is the old R block of the North Stand which was the centre of all the noise that came out of Maine Rd.

If you remember the "singing section" at Maine Rd was the back of the North Stand next to the away fans and they got moved to 216 when we moved to the new ground.

216 are still the noisiest in the 2nd tier, but I agree there are now more singers in 116/110/111.

Its Frustrating To See The Club Have Made An Effort To Listen To The Fans But Then Failed To Execute The Plan To Exactly How The Fans Wanted It.
It's Quite Obvious To Everyone That A Certain Aspect Of The Atmosphere Created Comes From Direct Communication Between Home And Away Supporters, So It Should Have Been Made Absolutely Clear The Away Fans Still Need To Be Located On The Bottom Tier Near The More Vocal Home Fans.
On The Back Of This We Also Felt It Would Be Extemely Beneficial To Join The "Singing Section" (109,110,111) With The South Stand (116,117,118), Once This Happens It Leaves Simple Mathematics To Solve The Rest, Simply Fill The Now Void "Singing Section" With The Away Supporters.
As A Result Of This, You Have All The Vocal Groups Together Creating A Kippax/Kop Style End, And The Away Supporters Tucked Neatly Away In The Corner But Still Close Enough For The Unmissable Volume Battle.

The Problem With The Decision The Club Has Made, We Are Going To Essentially Replace The Vocal Away Supporters (Atmosphere Creaters) With City Fans That Dont Understand The Routine, It's More Than Likely They Will Sit Down And Stay Moderatly Quiet And That Area Will Now Become Theoretically Empty, The Words 1 Step Forward, 2 Steps Back Comes To Mind.

For Those Who Cant Picture This In There Head, I've Added The Stadium Seating Plan Below.

Alright, alright. What **** couldn't count? Where the fuck is 112?
There's no 108, 112, 120, 129 or 141.

On tele you very rarely see the City fans in the South Stand. Some have good flags in that area (they were all out on Weds against Napoli and I could see them clearly from my seat) but when I watched the game back on Sky+ I rarely caught a glimps of them. On NB's map of the Etihad above 109-111 should be - ahem - united (sorry about the word used) with the South Standers by swapping the South Standers around with the away fans so the away fans are in 116-118. Then all of our vocal fans would be together in 109-115 and the away fans are out of sight on tele but still close to the vocal fans on Level 1 to have the banter.

I've even really looked at the away coach park and all the police would need to do is change the angle of the police barriers outside the South Stand and that's it. Barely any change to anything.

I do think this is a "decent" idea - excepting the reality is that those currently in 109-111 would simply try and move round over time to 121-123, many of whose present incumbants may not be too happy being put right next to the away fans anyway. Hence we end up with the same issue, other than we would look better on telly granted, as I agree it can be annoying when all the telly see's is the away fans.
I am in SSL117 ( and to to all the I gotta move moaners, we have nearly always had to for cup games) and fair play to the club for trying at least. It's only by trying different things that we will eventually get it as good as we can, given the layout/accoustics of the ground. So lets not moan , keep supporting as best we can, making as much noise as we can between us and thank fk for where we are..
Not that long ago we had the likes of Lee Badbuy and Gerry Creaney to watch remember..

I don't think the club understand the psychological value of having the away fans out of sight of the cameras.

There's nothing worse than seeing away fans celebrate on TV when their team score at the South Stand end.

Second, there are often gaps in the away section and people watching on TV often don't realise it's the away section. So having the more fanatical home fans fill the screen gives a better impression I believe.

Finally, it has to be better for the players to be attacking a "home" end.

It doesnt do the atmosphere at the Anfield kop any harm not having fans close by to point at so why should it affect our atmosphere?

Why do we need away fans close to us to produce an atmoshpere?

It just shows that for years/decades the players on the pitch have give us fuck all to sing about so weve concentrated on banter with away fans,im just hope us the fans and the club give it proper time to work.

It never affected the singing on the kippax,we had the fans in the pen to the left,in the platt lane and even right side of the north stand at different times in our history

is anyone planning a tifo for this game then seeing as we have one end?

blue alliance perhaps?

I just honestly dont think our fans can sing or generate a fantasic atmosphere for the duration of a match......fuck knows why lots of other clubs can!

we are assuming all other clubs generate a better atmosphere than us when they dont.

Arsenal is afucking library
Livepool only do it on big European nights
Everton jus sing Everton,Everton,Everton half adozen times in 90 minuites
Chelsea-see above
United sing nick nack paddywack
Tottenham just sing a slower version of when the spurs go marching in

The best singing atmospheres at games are when clubs are on the road, its the travelling support who make the most noise,3-4000 likeminded fans.

we are being a bit harsh on ourselves, give this singing stand time so fans can get season tickets there and it will take off.

Anfield for one is like a library for the vast majority of league games.
Not sure where this thinking that all other clubs are noisy and generate better atmospheres than us every game comes from.
Agree we can and should always strive to improve, but I go all over, and there are a lot, lot worse. Remember when we visit now we are deemed a scalp and a " big" club. It used to be even worse at most away grounds.

-- Wed Sep 21, 2011 11:45 am --

I Just said lots of clubs, our atmosphere is far better than most clubs i agree but could we do it every match for 90 mins...that would be quiet something& pretty intimadating.
