Meeting Re: Atmosphere

I don't think the club understand the psychological value of having the away fans out of sight of the cameras.

There's nothing worse than seeing away fans celebrate on TV when their team score at the South Stand end.

Second, there are often gaps in the away section and people watching on TV often don't realise it's the away section. So having the more fanatical home fans fill the screen gives a better impression I believe.

Finally, it has to be better for the players to be attacking a "home" end.

Totally agree.

My reservation with regards to moving the away fans up to the 3rd tier would be in relation to the "banter" element of the atmosphere. There's a degree of interaction between the singing sections either side of the away fans and the away fans themselves which adds something for me. To remove the away fans and put them on the 3rd tier you'll miss out on that.

Also, and it may have been covered already but I didn't spot it, how will the police deal with the logisitics of getting the away fans up to the 3rd tier and also segregating them?

Segregation will be the same as when away supporters are on the second tier.
Getting the away supporters onto the third tier will be by the spiral closest to the away fan's coach park.
I would think that anyone who currently has that spiral entrance as an option to enter the Etihad, will be given other additional options
L2 supporters can enter the stadium at the South Stand because there will be no restrictions of movement on the concourse
L3 will have to enter by one or both of the other spirals on that side of the ground

Me too. I've been sayin this for a long time and said it earlier in the thread. The away fans have absolute pride of place in our stadium, and it's plain wrong!

The East/South corner should be joined by the South Stand City fans. This should be done by swapping the South Stand away section with the South Stand City section. So, City's vocal areas would be 109-115. The away fans would then be in 116-118. I've even looked at the police barriers on leaving the stadium and all the police would need to do is put them at a slight angle so the away fans can get to their coach park easily:
Like this \\ instead of like this || with the barriers. It's simple as...

The City vocal area would still be near to the away fans for all the banter they like to have, so no problem there. We'd have a joined forces vocal section that would be twice as loud as either of them are currently, so a big positive there too. And te away fans would be tucked away where you can't see them on tele, so another good thing as you'd just see a larger mass of colourful, stood-up, noise making City fans insetad - a huge plus!

no , he talks too much sense to have that job

As long as they keep the away fans far from me whilst I munch on my prawn sandwiches then I'll be happy.

Remember we are away fans every other week, and the atmosphere at every ground largely depends on the away fans. You marginalise them, you make matters worse
