also it's €30m and we value Nastasic at €15m according to di Marzio so it's actually €45m or £35m

I agree, this is a fair deal for both sides...Benatia for £24mil (30mil euros) cash plus Nastasic (15mil euros)...total 35-36mil offer for Benatia....good move...where do we sign!!;)

Maybe Pellegrini doesn't rate Nastasic, regardless of his potential?

I had that feeling too last season. Demichelis will instantly jump in and play if Benatia/Kompany gets injured and not Nastasic.

Maybe we are planning to go back for a sick high line and the staff thinks Nastasic is not suited to that at all.

As being a fan of both clubs, I feel that this offer is fair for both teams... City get one of the best centerbacks in the world in benatia to accompany Kompany (no pun inteneded) in what is now a win now phase for City, while having Rekik and Boyata for the future.

Boyata has no future except fulflilling a quota until someone can replace him.

Imagine this:

We buy Benatia
We sell Nastasic
We keep the raw and inexperienced Rekik (who would benefit more going to Marseille on loan)

The season starts and things are OK. But then January comes and City not only have a bunch of tough league games, but the League Cup semi final (2 legs) and FA Cup.

Benatia goes to AFCON, leaving City with Kompany, Demichelis, Rekik and a couple of stand-ins (Sagna, Boyata) to face massive fixture congestion. No thanks...

It's not very holistic Nasty being part of this deal, unless the charming man thinks Rekik or Boyata will be good enough to compete at the top level

That would be the worst deal we have done since Steve Daley - 30m plus Nastasic. Tell them to do one. He's worth 30m tops!

I too see Nasty as 4th choice.

He is talented and does have potential,however,due to restrictions....he is also a player we can sell.

Kompany,Benatia,Demichelis and Boyata,plus the players that are adaptable,give us great options.
