Made me laugh. The CFA in Manchester is a huge multi-million pound investment/new build with 12(ish) pitches, indoor arena, sleeping facilities, gym space, etc, etc.

That is a pitch connected to a portacabin on a University campus surrounded by beauty shots and triumphant music. No wonder it only took them a year from planning to completion.

I cannot help but think that this will be heavily upgraded over the years. It's better than nothing of course but it's not exactly the "world class standard" they are pitching it as.

It is a massive step up to the previous facilities. There were weeks that team would be training at different locations, was completely ridiculous. It's easy to compare with what's been done in Manchester and think that not much has been done here, but we are comparing to what we had previously and what some other teams are using and it's a massive upgrade.

The youth team winning the league has also been a great achievement and hopefully a couple lads will be ready soon in the first team.

Still we have a long way to go 7k on a Friday night (the big game time slot) is pretty pathetic considering we have 11k members. We really need to start producing on the pitch, that's the only thing that will build the club.

Even so things are ticking along steadily and the future looks bright.

In terms of Australian football it is a huge step forward. The pitch alone is worth $2m and the fitness and rehab facilities are as good as any in the league. Compared to what the club had a year ago it is a different world.

Come on Damocles, they didn't have to build it, but a step in the right direction IMO.. Also it would never be like ours but it's better than what they had all the same...

12 months it took, FFS it's taking that building company a lot longer just to put in 6,250 seats, they should be applauded..Not once have I seen them cranes move going to work and coming home every day...

I'm not slagging them off for what they have built there and indeed, unlike the dicks in New York, I have nothing but love and respect for our Aussie cousins and hope they do extremely well.

I was just laughing at the fact that they are talking about a world class building, all of the sweeping beauty shots and the tinkling music and the like of when as many are saying, it's pretty much on par for most teams in the country.

I've no doubt that Melbourne will absolutely dominate the A-League in years to come and I personally value them as equals in this crazy City Football Group experiment, and understand that we sacrifice together for the interests of the Group which ultimately benefits all.

More a laugh at the presentation rather than the content. Nothing but nice things to say about Melbourne despite their initial and understandable opposition to some things like the shirt colour. In fact compared to New York and Yokohama these lot are the closest in attitude to being an old City fan than anyone else.

Okay I misunderstood what angle you were coming from. And yes the buildings are probably 40 years old, but without knowing too much they probably got more bang for their buck by upgrading rather than demolishing and doing a total rebuild.

On a side note we have brought in a new French winger Harry Novillo, any thoughts on him? Also Marwood has been quoted as saying Manchester will send younger players from the under-21 squad over for training or to play a season if they fit into the team dynamic. Currently a youngster from Manchester City's under 21s, James Horsfield, is training with van 't Schip's team to gain experience and develop his football. He might get a gig next season.

From the video I'd say the training and admin facilities are the equal or better than many AFL clubs.

And having had a quick look seem to be one of the few A League clubs with their own training base. Most share facilities with other codes, or use hired or public facilities.

On Novillo I thought it was interesting that he was recently on trial with St Etienne. Maybe the first signs of the partnership there.

Don't know much about him, but not got much to lose really on a few months contract.

Here we go again, must win to stay a chance of remaining a finals chance. It's almost dejavu, last time we played Mariners on the central coast we were coming off a good series of results and was a game we SHOULD have won but returned with a 2:0 loss. They sacked their coach Friday morning and game on Sunday so anything could happen. The players could fire up, but could also be a complete rabble. We have play our game and try and get some consistency happening.

We have potential 9 points available against the bottom 3 teams and anything less will be curtains for any hope of finals action. The team on paper is looking fairly decent although the bench is a little weak, all the talk of this new French guy, hopefully he can play and really lift the rest. For me Koren needs to lift, he is our Marquee he needs to really put in 3 strong performances.

Going out on a limb and predicting 2:0 win against Mariners.

Still have got zero confidence, but hopeful as always.

Just watched the spit Victory v Glory game. Got a spicy at times and that twat Muscat hasn't changed.

Melbourne City down 0-1 late in the game (84th minute). Been a pretty poor performance all round so far.
