Melbourne City FC Thread

Excellent result against a top side (I wouldn't mind Gombau in charge of Melbourne City).

The video above is a real eye opener too, I'm sure it's been mentioned plenty of times in this thread but before the takeover there was no set training facility, and wheelie bins were used for ice baths. So an enormous step forward for the club, it just has to reap benefits on the pitch.

Great win. Adelaide are the best ball playing team in the League and to win was totally unexpected.

The new CFA announcement and unveiling has also sent a strong message, prior a lot including yours truly were a bit sceptical on the the City groups intentions. In 12 months to be able to produce this is a true credit to all those responsible. The exciting thing is there is so much scope to build upon this as the League and the club develops.

The team has 3 games coming up in next 2 weeks against the bottom 3 teams, all away. Minimum of 6 points is required if we wish to remain in final contention. The big issue lingering is lack of depth, injury list is mounting hopefully we can get some replacements in soon, issue is its hard to get quality out of contract players at this time of year.

Anyway was a great weekend down in Melbourne hopefully we can continue to improve and make the finals.

Made me laugh. The CFA in Manchester is a huge multi-million pound investment/new build with 12(ish) pitches, indoor arena, sleeping facilities, gym space, etc, etc.

That is a pitch connected to a portacabin on a University campus surrounded by beauty shots and triumphant music. No wonder it only took them a year from planning to completion.

I cannot help but think that this will be heavily upgraded over the years. It's better than nothing of course but it's not exactly the "world class standard" they are pitching it as.

Oh, and congratulations to the Melbourne City youth team who just won their league for the first time in their history

Future is looking good over there.
