Memories of Ceefax/Teletext

I think one of the stations -maybe Channel 4 ? Had a Music section over nine pages.
It contain news, album/single reviews and a section on gig reviews from the public which was updated every week.
Anyway I sent a review in after seeing Bon Jovi at Wembley and they published it !!!!

It was called Planet Sound it was excellent

They had a games section called Digitiser as well. had comedic and anarchic traits that appealed to me.
They have a website with some history here: https://www.digitiser2000.com/faq.html

This was the final edition, how to render porn in Teletext and get away with it...

0898121191,,,,this is Mancester City clubcall, in around an hour we will tell you of our new marquee signing
Christ Marco that really takes me back
i remember burning through my companies phone budget desperately waiting for news on signing of legends like Buster Phillips. Would we beat the rags to his signing…. By god they could spin out the shit
If I recall this number also provided radio commentary or match reports or both. I was playing in a cricket final when City played Wigan in 1st leg promotion play off. I borrowed a mates phone that evening and he went bonkers when his bill came through.

On teletext I used to watch the local cricket results scroll round. Bloody thousands of them. Made a major life improvement when I followed a mates advice to record the scroll of the 20 or so pages and then find the relevant recorded sections.

Id be reading them looking for a bargain 2 weeker in Greece / Turkey / Canaries..... youd see a good offer on on Page 4 / 35 and before I was able to grab the pen and write the number down it would be on page 5 and I'd sit there until it got back round to page 4....
And when you finally get the number and call them the offer had gone but they had a deal at twice the price

I'm sure I tried recoding Teletext on the VHS thingy but it recorded the program on the station rather than Teletext.

Could be wrong tho, many moons ago.
