MEN - United have "embarrassed" City over academy graduates

If a sugar daddy puts money into a club what do you call an owner who takes it out? Greedy chancer?

When you play for City & are better than the kids at Utd & don't get a sniff, but their kids, who you just ran rings round last season, do,imo you are better off not being at City, irrespective whether yu come through or not.

Why are they better off at United they get no more opportunities to shine?

They wipe the fucking floor with us, in that respect. Most of them are shit, ours are better. They get in, play & move on, ours go on loan to Bury after wasting years playing shit arsed 2nd rate football & losing their edge.

We had better players, than Rashford.

Who was better than Rashford and they have dozens out on loan. They don't even get the chance to shine in their EDS games as united consistently play first team squad players in there to get their EDS higher up the table. They claim its players looking for fitness after coming back from injury. Those injuries must include recuperating from split ends.

Most of City's attacking players were performing at a higher level. Most of City's younger teams were performing at a higher level.

Many of the players our kids ran rings round, have played Premier League football in the last few seasons. Few are any good. But they still got the chance. We have had whole teams full of kids playing magnificent football, hardly any of whom have had a chance.

We now have another group playing good football & everyone is assuming that some of them will get a chance, the same way they were assuming the previous group would get a chance & the same way they were assuming the group before them would get a chance. And when hardly any of them actually got a chance it's either 'you can't risk kids at a club like City' or 'meh, they weren't good enough'. But the rags do 'risk' them & hardly any are 'good enough' just that one year with Beckham etc. Hasn't stopped them using other young players, every season since.

This article is part of a campaign by Utd, to win back supremecy over City in the youth area. We have had almost all the best players, but nobody ever saw any.
'Sign for Utd & you get a chance' is the motto. 'Don't sign for City, your career will disappear'.

That is their angle, they have all their people on the case & there is a simple way to put it down.

All we have to do, is play a few kids here & there & it goes away.

The whole point is not about 'coming through' it's about being given an opportunity to do, what you (should) be taking up football for, which is to play for your team.

If you get the opportunity, & fail, or are worse than your peers at other clubs, or a lazy **** & don't deserve it, that is your fault.

Fair point about City, but holds true for Manure as well, they have only put in their youth when desperate due to injuries ans discarded them hastily.
I guess the positive example to follow in this case is spurs.

It's not always the case at Utd though, it is sometimes.

None of these teams who have been 'forced' to use kids, have found it a disasterous thing. In the case of the rags, we have seen scores of soon to be forgotten kids come on, play a decent game or even score the winner for them, milk the publicity, then get sold to Steve Bruce or whoever.

What we haven't seen, is many who come on & 'cost them the game' or the title. It is usually the experienced blokes next to them, who do that.

Did our academy fuck start in 2008, I was watching it at Maine Rd.

Calm down
I said "investment" started in 2008 when SM funding ensured we could outdo our rivals & start to attract kids that would normally have gone to the rags. I also watched our kids at Maine Road but nowadays we are getting la creme de la creme which is why rags are gunning for our CFA !!

I thought that in the last couple of years, that the rags were only promoting youth because of injuries. Would we be happy if we had to rely on the likes of Lingard and Rashford. Its only so that the media can perpetuate the myth of United promoting local lads while we are the big bad oil baddy who is ruining football

Again. Spot on. Some folk are taken in by the rag publicly machine. Once Jose had the funds he'll replace all kids. Even this year he preferred an aging Swede to gods gift - Rashford - until injuries forced his hand

I'm completely calm.

We have had top kids at City, before the investment. Since then, we have had some of the best kids I'vce ever seen in 40 odd years of watching youth football.

Few of them have played more than about one game & most are worse players at 21, than they were at 17.

Imo, the new academy has so far been a resounding failure & we were better at bringing players through in 1978 than we are now.
