MEN - United have "embarrassed" City over academy graduates

I'm completely calm.

We have had top kids at City, before the investment. Since then, we have had some of the best kids I'vce ever seen in 40 odd years of watching youth football.

Few of them have played more than about one game & most are worse players at 21, than they were at 17.

Imo, the new academy has so far been a resounding failure & we were better at bringing players through in 1978 than we are now.

Ok. You must be right & City don't know what they're doing. Name some players who are same age as Rashford that should be in our first team. BTW Lingard is 23/24 so cannot be classed as a kid.

I like the fact that the week after their debut they are in the England squad.

No wonder we never win a fucking thing. Clicks and shirt sales are uppermost it appears.

Absolutely, look at how England Cricket & Rugby have moved on since the removal of the old men in grey suits. Our FA is all about making money, nothing will change until we have an upheaval at the top.

The benchmark in 1978 even 1992 is nothing like it is now. Most of United's squad and ours from those times would not hold down regular starts in today's Premier League.

There was a top league in this country. We were in it. We were near the top of it. We had players developed, ourselves, good enough to play in our team.

Now, we don't have any 'good enough' to play five minutes in our team.

Am i missing something here? Utd played some youngsters out of neccesity not choice. Only rashford gets a regular slot and thats because big nose got injured and they had no options. Lingard is shite and will disappear a la januzai and thats about it? If anyone things peg will play any youngsters once he's made his signings they are mistaken, its not his style.

Yes, you & it seems many on here are missing the point completely.

City have left Utd behind in signing the best kids & they are desperate to change it. Their people, including reporters, Gary, Phil Neville, Scholes, Wio, etc etc etc are all trying to change that by making sure everybody knows, that Utd will use kids in their team quite often, whaeras City (& Chelsea) won't.

They have do & will use them. We haven't hardly at all.

It DOESN'T MATTER if the kid ends up at Birmingham or Hull. The point is, he did ok for their 2nd team & he got in. We used to do the same, now we don't.

A few home developed kids off the bench, regularly, like they do & Spurs do & Arsenal do & the the problem is solved.

On that march to glory in the EPL cup United went full strength whilst we put Garcia, maffio and Iheanacho
in the team, we blood kids in derbys they do it in dead rubbers.
