Aye, cue a thread full of people who haven't searched out any new music in decades moaning that new music is shit because of all the boring stuff they play on Radio 2.

I enjoyed this album.

He's American, but this is the third of his Manchester trilogy.

A hint of Tame Impala.

It will be usual people who try and drag every thread down. I love these types of threads as I always find myself listening to the same stuff and this gives me some great options.

Great album. Buy new stuff every week but people are too lazy to look. Got new Idles and Cabbage records coming today. Best debut I've heard this year is from a band called BDRMM. Early Cure and Pale Saints. Other debut looking forward to and out next week is from Working Men's Club. Been waiting a few months for that.

Michael Kiwanuka is as much proof as anyone would need that not all modern music is ‘shite’. There are artists still making extremely good albums. Off the top of my head, Lana del Ray, Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, Christina and the Queens, Kacey Musgraves, Alabama Shakes and established artists like Nick Cave and the Arctic Monkeys are still producing stuff outside their comfort zone. That’s before going anywhere near Beyonce et al. There is still good stuff to listen to if you keep your ears and mind open. Maybe @BlueHammer85 will run a top albums of the last decade thread for us. That would be quite interesting to flush out new stuff for folk.
