Merson: "If Tevez had pld City would've already won it"

This is getting weird. When is someone going to take some responsibility around here. Someone must see to it that the self confessed cocaine snorting, drunken, quarter-witted wife basher is beheaded in the street.

GET IT DONE NOW

You're going soft Pam. Would have thought hung, drawn and quartered would have been the minimum requirement.

That's funny, because at the start of the season he said we might not even get Champions League.

Yes, what was I thinking?

We have won 63 out of a possible 78 points, dropping just 15 points.

United have dropped 17 points.

Let's say for one moment, that City would have dropped less with Tevez, in fact, go to the extreme and say wouldn't have dropped any points. (I disagree).

The earliest possible time that City could mathematically win the league (assuming we had won every game) is after 33 games. With 99 points, to United's 82 (assuming United win all their games from now on).

So, as if we didn't already know, Merson is talking utter tosh. At least, if he thinks we would have won more points with Tevez, fine. I don't have a problem with that, though I disagree. But he should refrain from stupid sweeping statements that lack any factualities.

While i dont agree we would of won the league as its just impossible to win a league this early i think with Tevez we would of beaten WBA and Sunderland as he has that direct running that we lacked in those games

whilst they have a few games where a comitted fit tevez could have be useful, I think Marios pens have been great and tevez has always been dodgy would have almost certainly took spuds and missed if he was around.

But agree with the consenus, the fact that muppet gets paid to spout clueless shit is a indication of how fucked up society is these days.

Merson is just one of a legion of muppets who are paid to spout undiluted garbage when called upon. Add to this gallery of rogues Claridge, Redknapp, Yorke, Motson, Chapman... the list is depressingly long.

Merson (and Claridge's) antipathy towards City is particularly bemusing. I can only put it down to jealousy. Claridge changes his opinions like the wind (he is the self-appointed 'controversial' one on Radio 5 - wow: what a rebel). Merson usually doesn't know what day of the week it is when is he is on Sky.

They are all briefed to create as many headlines as possible with their bold statements. Merson's ridiculous claim about Tevez is beyond parody.

We may well have beat Sunderland & West Brom. Tevez could have influenced many a game. However he may well have cost us games. He was never the best team player, we often lacked fluidity when he played. It's easy to point to games and say "we could have won that with Tevez", has anyone looked at any of the games and thought, if Tevez was playing we'd still be struggling to break these down, as often was the case last season. No doubt Tevez is a great player, this year though we have a great team. Mario, Sergio and & Edin are all close to Tevez's total for all of last season despite playing in the CL not the Europa, and no FA Cup run. My money would be on all our players finishing on a similar number of league goals to Tevez's last season. I'm sure all would agree that 3 players scoring 15-20 is better than one player scoring 20-25?
As someone has wrote, is there anyone in World football that we'd have preferred to have taking that penalty against Spurs than Mario? The goals that beat QPR, were from incredibly quick fluid team moves, moves we we're not seeing that often last year.
I find it funny that the World and his dog will have a go a Dzeko, say where would we be with Tevez in his place, would anyone be surprised if Dzeko tops Tevez's total for last season? I wouldn't. Mario will, Sergio will, I'm sure.
