Messi trial.

Been confirmed that him and his father will stand trial. Do a runner Leo; we'll look after you.

Strange as the prosecution yesterday said they weren't pursuing Messi, only his dad, but the judge over ruled that today, cant see it being much of an issue if the prosecution arent going to go for him. His dad seems to be fucked though.

I'm still convinced Barca set him up as revenge for talking to us and to stop him going.

But did it? He's still there and not at the Etihad. That deal was very close.

If he spends 2 of his prime footballing years in jail and they're given the choice between paying him to be incarcerated and losing him on a free upon release it'll definitely have backfired.

There is little to no chance of him getting jail time. At worst he'll have an eye watering fine, his old man on the other hand...

He's offered to pay eye watering restitution already for the tax avoidance, that was turned down by the prosecution, so now their two options are to jail him or clear him.

If they are the only two options left,IMO he will be cleared and his dad will be hammered.

They'll lose a lot of face if that happens, Messi won't stand back and let his dad take the rap, it'll be very, very obvious why he got off. They've fucked up here, should have accepted the restitution offer.
