Mesut Özil

Unfortunately...

Werder Bremen ace Mesut Ozil is keen to make the move to the English Premier League according to reports.

The 21-year old Germany international is attracting plenty of interest from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City due to impressive World Cup performances and says he would be open to a Premiership move although he is currently focused on Saturday’s quarter-final clash with Argentina.

"The World Cup is all that matters at the moment,” Ozil said.

"When I get back we can think about my future, but for for now it's not something I want to give a lot of thought to. To the top players the Premier League is attractive.

"You look at what Manchester United and Chelsea have achieved over the last five years and you see it would be easy to be successful at two clubs like that.”

Ozil added that he would love to emulate the achievements of Germany star Michael Ballack with Chelsea but also hinted that a move to Spain’s La Liga could be an option.

"I see what Michael Ballack achieved at Chelsea and the quality of players he played with and the temptation becomes obvious,” he added.

"Trophies are what matters to me. There are two teams in England always at the top and of course that's attractive. But the same is true for La Liga.

"They're the strongest leagues in the world."

He didn't mention us. :(

Players like ozil would always be attracted to the more established clubs but as long as we can sell him that we are trying to be just as big but also bigger but to do so we need players like him to achieve it,maybe then he would be convinced .

I really cannot see him going to either barca or man utd as they don't have the space but also the money in man utd case to bring him there,so it leaves us and chelsea or maybe real madrid but i cannot see perez allowing mourinho to bench kaka.

From what i have seen of him he is clearly better than adam johnson and more athletic than silva but silva cannot be benched and the fact that we still have robinho to come makes it less likely for us to buy him.

To be honest i would rather see us bring in krasic so we have a real right winger in the team and one that can make the crosses with robinho on the left and silva in behind tevez or craig.

Krasic, Robinho and Silva in the same midfield??? Is that you Kevin (Keegan)?

So, this is how the rags sneak their next world class talent despite having no money. Ozil sees out his contract and moves to the vermin on a free, good wages. I hope Chelsea try and grab him this window, since it seems likely he won't come to us (and really, with Silva, Toure, and Milner en route do we have any free spots?), just to keep him away from the scum.

Ah but by this time next year when he's out of contract, we'll be champions and the scum will be out of the sky 4 ;p

Can't see us making for a move for him now we've got Silva, would like to see him at Chelsea now, they need new mifielders so could see them making a move.

He's a great player but so is Silva and if Robinho and Ireland don't go, we're set. I'm not that bothered if we miss out on him. I'd be more than happy with Yaya, a new left back and possibly nother forward to replace Crocky. Adebayor and Tevez should be first choice

this guy would be a amazing signing, he is young and just one talented player also one for the future too. but i just cant see him coming to us to be fair.
