I think it's more shield boss like than sword.

That happened to mate of mine on a site using a scanner. He was looking for underground power cables for the firm he worked for. He had his pal digging the exploratory holes after a buzz, there were many buzzes. In his words " Bob was bolloxed and it was only half ten".

Not a metal detector find but I found a perfect obsidian arrow head the other day at my job site, best one I’ve ever seen
That's a stunning piece. Look at the workmanship when you zoom in.

My dad came back from 4 or 5 nights in Norfolk a week ago
him and his 2 mates rent a converted barn there,they go every year
but this time,time is catching up with them
he's 81 and 5 days was too long for him and his mates
they didnt find much either,just usual mundane stuff for them
