Has anyone gone ahead and bought one of these yet for next season?

For £70 it works out cheaper for me (as I travel from Bury for £4.90) to the Etihad Campus.

Another poster in another topic has stated that with Victoria being refurbished in January, there won't be a direct line from Bury-Droylsden

Can anyone confirm this?

look for this ...

· Divert the Bury to Droylsden service to run Droylsden to Eccles, via Piccadilly, every 12 minutes

Also the Metrolink Director's name is Peter Cushing! Brilliant!

So how would a typical Bury journey go?

from that article my understanding is we get to Abraham Moss, then have to get a Bus into town?

I think it's more likely you could travel to Market St, then walk to Piccadilly Gardens to pick up the Eccles tram. I think match days won't be as bad as rush hour (apart from the changeover in town), but evening games will be tricky mixing with commuters.

My issue is that this is not being advertised by Metrolink and is unfair to supporters.

No, the Bury-Altrincham trams will still run through the city centre so you could either change at Market St and walk across to the Picc Gardens stop to get the Droylsden tram or carry on to St Peters Sq and make the connection there.

for all those travelling with kids - a family ticket allows different permutations with a max of 2 adults and 3 kids to travel - (although 2 adults can travel as long as accompanied by just 1 child)

Family ticket prices

East Didsbury to Etihad Stadium - £6.70 return (Opens in 2 weeks)

Bury to Etihad Stadium - £6.70 return

Piccadilly to Etihad stadium - £4:00 return

Unfortunately if you're at Piccadilly you can only buy family ticket from the machines and not the mobile ticket fellas...... but its no biggy just an additional couple of minutes
