The same happened to me and I had to walk to Edge Lane with a 76 year old who has had a hip replacement in the recent passed.Fucking joke yesterday. Cant park so took the tram. Walked to where the shops are and got the kids some food while it got less busy, got to Clayton hall station to go to droylsden and fucking metrolink had closed the station, saying we should have got on at the ground. If the cunts think I’m going to wait an hour at the ground and let the kids go hungry they can fuck off. The cunts don’t half do their best to fuck off the matchday experience. Also an inadequate number of trams in the first place. You buy your ticket, they close the station, that’s fair. Had to walk to the half way house, did my 2 fucked knees and knackered back loads of good, thanks gmpte
Yep you are right there mate! Waited till players had left field and bt the time I got to the platform there was a 12 minute delay then one due a minute after and another one five minutes after ! Shambolic - at least we weren’t kept up at the top for ages this time I suppose ….The tram service towards Ashton after the game is now beyond a joke. Totally not fit for purpose. A public transport system that does its best to make you not use it.
err I thought the trams were free all the timeQuick query, does a train ticket enable you to travel in Zone 1 ie between Vic and Picc stations in lieu of buying a tram ticket?
Sure I read that somewhere.
May be busy going to the stadium but the concert starts at 7:30pm so after the game should be OK. Personally I have no faith in Metrolink getting anything right so could actually be utter chaos.4th May. Us 5.30pm kick off.
Olivia Rodrigo (how the hell do I know who she is) at roughly the same time at the arena.
I've already had the email from City warning me the trams will be busy.
oh joy.
Proper grab a granny day....look out for rooney on the trams.Barry Manilow on the 19th May,last day of the season.
That will be interesting on the trams that day
Same experience. I used to walk to Clayton Hall and it was never a busy stop, yet New Islington remains open. Awful service. The same happened to me and I had to walk to Edge Lane with a 76 year old who has had a hip replacement in the recent passed.
We were told that Metrolink will close the Clayton Hall stop for 2 hours after every home game.
To rub salt in the wound, as we walked to Edge Lane, a double tram passed us which was half empty.
It's a disgrace.
