Around five years ago I used to have to catch a taxi at 4:30 am from Altrincham to get the 5:05 am train from Piccadilly. That cost around £15 but God knows what it is now.

I’ve bit the bullet and booked passenger cars for 11.30, should get to Summerbees just after 12 to drink as much as I can to cool down my boiling head.

They have the monopoly in the area, I think they merged about four local firms a few years ago. I used to use them twice a month, same time, same route. I got to know a few of the drivers and knew the price but some different ones always tried to add a couple of quid on. In the end the owner put a set price on my fare to stop it happening. Recently I used one to the airport at 4:15 am and it cost £17. Four weeks later I returned at 3:30am, ironically the same driver and he charged me £23! I was going to call them and query it but totally forgot in the end

Ha ha! There are buses running the 41 from Sale metrolink stop, coming back they leave Piccadilly at 14 past the hour and 44 to the hour but take around 45 minutes. With four of you probably quicker and cheaper in a taxi

With the weather today did they actually get the engineering work done on the Altrincham line?

The answer is probably that they didn’t, so that will be another of our games disrupted.

The screen at the tram stop after the game today said 37 mins. Had to go and ask a useless member of staff in a Metrolink tabard to check it wasn’t a glitch.

I paid 80 something quid for one of those tram “season ticket” things. What a fucking scam, the service is a third world joke run by thieving inept cunts.

I would guess they can't do the work at night due to the noise or having to pay the staff more. I caught that replacement bus once it was a bloody awful experience.
