Metrolink to / from Etihad

Getting to the ground, if you're driving in from the Fylde then park at the free Metrolink Park & Ride at Ladywell. The trams on that line go direct to the Etihad so you'll be on early and won't have the problem of trying to get on a crowded tram in town.

Going back, either walk it, as people have said, or jump on a bus.

Or sit in the star bar for an hour and wait for the queue to die down.

Thanks to everyone for your replies. Previously I used to park at an unofficial match day car park on Cambrian st. However this season it has to be pre-booked. Does anyone have their contact details to do this?
Once again thanks in advance.
St Annes Church/School still take day payers £5.
It is on Carruthers Street and runs between Pollard St & Every St.
About 10 mins walk to the ground

Are you fit and able?

It’s about a 25 minute walk from the Etihad to Piccadilly Station. Quicker if you’re a fast walker. You’d be waiting longer than that in the queue for the Met after the game.

You’d be lucky to find a taxi, but they’re only £5 back to Picc Stn if you do find one.

I’ve never got the bus back, not sure on that one.

But you can wait around 20-30 mins in the queue for the Met and then it takes about 8 mins on the Met back to Picc Stn.
25 minutes, do you have one leg (:

Fylde coast blue travelling to the next home match against Palace. After the last match it took nearly 3 hours to get home by car, due to traffic. Thinking of coming by train to Piccadilly, and then by Metro link to the Etihad. How long does it usually take after a match to get back to Piccadilly by Metro?

Thank you in advance.
There is a coach from Blackpool to every home game with the supporters club

Trams right after the match are an absolute nightmare. You'll just been stood in a queue for an hour.

You're better off either walking back to the city centre straight after the game (it's about 30 mins walk tops), or hanging around for a pint at the ground for a bit til the queues die down then getting the tram after an hour or so.

The easiest way is to walk it, certainly after the match. 20 minutes tops
It depends where you sit. If you sit in 111 or 211, for example, given the large walk you have to go out of your way because of the cordon surrounding the away fans, you've been walking ten minutes and are still outside the ground.

I consider myself a fast walker and always have been. However, given all the faffing, the fact that you have to negotiate walking behind slow walking people, and what not, if you make it back to Piccadilly from my spec in less than 40 minutes then you've got jet propelled boots.

I could make it from the Maine Road Chippy to the bridge under Piccadilly Station in 25 minutes on a non-match day, but on a match day I'm playing with an entirely different rule book.
