Metrolink to / from Etihad

This 15 to 20 mins walk back to Piccadilly i find it hard to believe.
I think my record is 30 minutes and that would be to Ancoats Travelodge.
As some have said an uncomfortable walk due to sweat and add on dodgy knees.
Bus the way to go.Very civilised and no real overcrowding.
Ideal for the South Stand regulars.
Same here. When I'm over for a game, I invariably hike back into town (used the tram once and it's disorganised chaos at the stadium station after the game). Not hanging about, it takes me between 25 - 30 minutes to get back to Store Street, under Piccadilly Station. Maybe being an FOC adds to the time these young upstarts can do it in, mind.

I've started parking at a car park behind Picadilly station called Sheffield Street Car park, it's £5 for up to 8 hours, but it's an easy get away if you get back quickly enough to the car park. It's probably a mile (ish) walk straight along side the tramway (pretty much).

There are free spots nearer, but they're more difficult to get away from.
Thank you mate, will look into this now.

I'm "normally" at my car (see car park described) in about 20 minutes from SS3, another 5 minutes to the station, via the station multi storey, we follow the tramline, it's longer if you go via the canal as we used too.

I'm a 30 minute+ OC.

Google Maps, which always seem to calculate on Olympic Speedwalking Pace, claims 30-31mins edge to edge. Add a few minutes to get down the spiral on Level 3, walk around the stadium and get to the platform, I wouldn't allow any less than 45 min before the train is meant to turn up.

Congratulations to all the City Powerwalkers who can do it in less time.

Great Ancoats St one lane in both directions at pollard St Junction. No right turn at all onto pollard St from Great Ancoats St
No entry from Adair St onto Great Ancoats Street 14 weeks of road works just started
Tram or walk good idea

*Tongue in cheek/lol time*

Will you all stop posting about these walks from Piccadilly to Etihad please! I struggled to walk from my front door to my car yesterday (about 10 yds) and then the silly car wouldn’t start!!
The AA man was then chatting to me about walks off the Snake Pass and round that area, I come on here and you lot are talking walks as well.

Look there’s only so much a ‘girl’ can take about fit and able walkers you know!! :-) ;-) :-)

The walks we (AA man and me) were talking about were walks I used to do regularly until a couple of years ago!!! :-)

Also remember there are lots of areas close to the ground where parking is not allowed on event days but the restrictions are poorly signed. This is supposed to benefit residents even in non-residential areas but seems more for the benefit of parking ticket merchants.
There are plans to widen the no parking zones once the arena opens but no plans to improve public transport.
