You won't regret it. I have to use the Alty line. I walk into Piccadilly and then watch everyone else being taken home.I was meant to be be staying at Altrincham Travelodge on Tuesday.
Thanks to this thread cancelled and got a cheaper deal in Ancoats.
I think everyone drove, much busier parking than normal even with no shows. No problems whatsoever post match today. No queue, straight onto the platform, got a seat on the tram & after a quick change at Cornbrook was back in Chorlton at 22:50.
As I said earlier in the thread, that is the biggest problem: we are served by only one line. united fans can access the entire Metrolink network from four stations within a short walk of their ground, plus a railway stationHmmm 48000 people leaving a stadium. One station. Now I wonder why there are queues. Instead of waiting for your Royal Quadruple Tram with your velvet cushioned seat, here's an idea, If youre able bodied, walk into town. By the time you do the trams are less full and you'll have done yourself some good.
Not always the case. I walked back to Piccadilly in the rain against Wolves, took me 4 trams to get back to Altrincham from there. ALL PACKED!! And I was lucky at Trafford bar waiting for the last leg, I only just got on one (Single Tram).Hmmm 48000 people leaving a stadium. One station. Now I wonder why there are queues. That’s the issue mate. I walk to Piccadilly to catch the tram to Alty. Last night I could see one at about 22:10 which wasn’t enough time to get back for. Couldn’t see any others due to arrive so grabbed a cab knowing how poor the Alty service from town can be after an evening game.Hmmm 48000 people leaving a stadium. One station. Well - you must be a fast walker. I always walk to St Peter's Square and have never not got a seat easily. Not always the case. True to form last night on the Alty line - going to the game not too bad - after the game not good for some.
A single tram again from Piccadilly that was rammed - when it got to Cornbrook not everyone managed to get on, some blues left on the platform, And then when it got to Trafford Bar the driver refused to open the doors as the tram was fully loaded. Much pissed off blues left on the platform.
GET DOUBLE TRAMS ON THE ALTY LINE YOU MUPPETS, IT`S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.
