Just a reminder no trams on Sunday south of the City going beyond Cornbrook. Coming from Alty, Didsbury, etc.
What a joke. One of the busiest days of the year for tram usage. Is it a strike or improvement works?
Just recall it being flagged the other week on this thread and thought was worth flagging again.
I believe they are Cornbrook engineering works over the weekend.
Anyone trying to get the to the stadium would need to get off at Cornbrook and either wait for the replacement bus to take you to Piccadilly Gardens to catch the tram on from there, or walk to Picc (probably quicker!)
It is a joke and will be even more an issue for the return journeys home.
You couldn't make it up could you. Metrolink management are totally inept.Just a reminder no trams on Sunday south of the City going beyond Cornbrook. Coming from Alty, Didsbury, etc.
Agree mate, they really do need to sort their act out.You couldn't make it up could you. Metrolink management are totally inept.
Caught this yesterday, worked perfectly there and back. Wish they did it for every game from the park and ride stationsThere's going to be express buses from East Didsbury to and from the stadium from anyone travelling from that direction...

Planned engineering works at Deansgate-Castlefield
Planned engineering works will take place at Deansgate-Castlefield from Saturday 5th to Sunday 6th March 2022.tfgm.com
I'm only interested in getting to and from the ground from the City center, seems to be a better service on a Sunday, yesterday being a case in point no long queues and double units.I hate metrolink. Because it runs into areas tfgm decided in their infinate wisdom to discontinue buses running into those areas. They totally ignore the fact not everyone lives near a tram stop, it's more expensive and on days like yesterday you're fucked. Last night trying to get from Altrincham to Didsbury for a drink by public transport was as good as impossible. I used to be able to catch a 370 bus that took me right into the heart of Didsbury village. Last night all trams terminated at Old Trafford and there was no Didsbury trams either, they terminated at Firswood. The only way I could get there by public transport was a 263 to Stretford and catch another bus, a journey that would take me 90 minutes minimum IF the connections aligned. Just fuck off and when you get there fuck off again metrolink!

I did No.11 bus from Timperley to Baguley metro stop, tram to the airport, Liverpool train to Piccadilly and final tram to the Etihad. On the return I reversed the process but just missed a No.11 bus at the Baguley metro stop.Yes I get that but for many the all singing dancing metrolink isn't. That includes matchdays and in our social life. Coming from Altrincham they terminated at Old Trafford which is fucking useless
I think having to take 4 different journeys to get from Timpers to the Etihad sums up what a crap public service we have up here in Manchester. How much did that lot cost??I did No.11 bus from Timperley to Baguley metro stop, tram to the airport, Liverpool train to Piccadilly and final tram to the Etihad.

Wife was good enough to collect me from Tesco Baguley car park.
It all worked a treat and as I left the game one minute in to injury time I was able to get straight on to the tram platform at the Etihad and caught a tram within a couple of minutes,
