In the season ticket book we got showing prices etc it said tram season ticket holders get a priority queue. Did this happen does anyone know?
Bloody hell no way Jose, it is a complete free for all.

The priority queue after the game at Campus tram stop worked OK for me.

A couple of hundred on the platform for Ashton after last nights Match and a two carriage tram turns up, too small for those waiting, the metrolink official defending it was comical, are they really that clueless?
I kid you not 8 minutes before full time there was a four carriage one
Was talking to two metro staff who said its fucking bizarre that they send a four carriage one which left the campus empty & the next one is a two carriage when the platform is bursting..

ycmiu...

Where was this?

All I saw about 3 mins after kick off was on the left hand side those with Met tickets had to queue and on the right handside those who needed to pay for a ticket at the inspection booths had to go on the right hand side.

There's a gate by the bridge that goes over the track. Flash the match day metro link pass and the guy lets you through to join the platform ahead of the queue

Many thanks! I'll check it out next time. I don't have a pass but I know people who do.

Cheers, I appreciate it.

I'm out on beer on Saturday and will be using the Metrolink to/from the game.

After checking the site it says that the Rochdale/Oldham tram goes to the ground rather than it's usual route to Didsbury. Is that the norm on matchdays?

No, it is because of the works going on.

The following isn't aimed at you Manchester Blue:

Nah, I don't work for them. I just don't like people moaning about stuff without seeking information, so I tend post in response so that one day hopefully there will be less people on here thinking they are victims because they are City fans. A lot of people have to put up with the Metro's service 5 days a week and have little alternative, City fans have plenty of alternatives in my opinion.
So because its a shit service 5 days a week, we shouldnt complain when they put on a shit service on matchdays?

No, of course people have a right to complain, but it's the ones in this thread who post as if it's all done to fuck over City that do my head in.

This is the current timetable for the Etihad-Campus tram stop.

The last tram time is the same for every bank holiday this year. The problem is because Manchester's Pride is this bank holiday and our match is against Liverpool, so our match had to be moved to Monday night. Why should it be down the the Metrolink to cater for football fans? I don't see the buses providing an extra service today and anyone bitching about that.

I agree it would be best to provide more trams and buses today because we had to move our match because of Manchester's Pride, but that's something that should be aimed at the council and GMPTE.

Well Well well .............. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/trams-stop-short-city-centre-7745188" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ ... re-7745188</a>

So they have brought forward the works closures on the Metrolink to SATURDAY, (the busiest shopping day of the week) SO AS NOT TO INCONVENIENCE RAG FANS - as their game against QPR is on Sunday.

Every Metrolink line will stop short of Manchester city centre on Saturday - in a move to prevent disruption for Manchester United’s home game with QPR.

Transport for Greater Manchester will lay on a range of replacement bus services on Saturday as it undertakes ‘essential engineering works’ across the tram network.

All six Metrolink lines will be disrupted, with services terminating before they reach Manchester city centre.

Metrolink bosses because of United’s Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Sunday, works will be carried on on Saturday instead.

Services from Altrincham, East Didsbury and Eccles will all terminate at Cornbrook.

The MediaCityUK line will be closed but passengers can still use the Eccles line to reach MediaCity UK.

The Bury line will stop at Crumpsall and Rochdale Town Centre services will terminate at Westwood.

Replacement bus services will collect passengers from the final stops but will not call at Pomona, Market Street or Victoria.

A Metrolink spokesman apologised for ‘any inconvenience caused by these essential works’.

north manc blues get ready for an early start on Saturday.
It's not too far a stroll through Philips Park from Central Park. Might bring a brolly just in case...

Metrolink are actually advising people to catch the replacement bus from Central Park to Piccadilly, then catch a tram to the stadium. Are they for real?

Bus replacement between Altrincham and Timperley today. So those travelling from Alty or Navigation rd should allow extra time.

Last night they were at their inefficient best. Pre match a ten minute wait at Cornbrook and a single unit that arrived at the gardens already crowded where hundreds were waiting to get on, at the station only three people were allowed on. The driver apologised and said there should be extra double units but he didn't know what had happened to them.

Left when Yaya got the red and walked from South stand just missing a single unit back to town, then waited twelve minutes for the next tram another single unit that of cause was overcrowded. God knows how long it took for the people behind to get home.

City do there utmost to get a good crowd with the BOGOF deal and loads missed the kick off because of these idiots. Why build a station at the Etihad if Metrolink are not prepared to make an effort on match days?

Left right on the whistle sprinted over got fast track entrance so no real queue but had to wait 12 mins for a tram to then up which was a single unit to town. God knows what the queue was like upstairs by then.
