Micah Richards (2014/15)

Hasn't come back from injury the same player, yet, we have seen from all the full backs this year how difficult this 4222 is for them in particular to get used to. The wide man comes inside, or goes wide and its a tough call for the full back to stick or twist. He's struggled with this.

I still think Micah can become our first choice right back bit he's got 2/3 of a season to prove it.

Spot on DD.

We saw against Plzen in the second half that if in doubt it was better to just let Jesus attack their left side defence. Zaba then joined the attack where there were obvious gaps. It was more difficult for Micah at Sunderland when the defence was camped on their 18 yard line and Micah got in the way.

Re: Micah Richards

As much as it is annoying when people go on about "no english starting player for City today" etc etc. I do have a niggling feeling that our English players are seemingly being phased out and there's no other English players of the same quality I can think of that we'd be likely to buy.

Hart obviously having issues.
Milner whilst he's not been playing great has obviously not had much playing time.
Now questions over Richards.
If Rodwell doesn't get over his injuries he might be shown the door.
Barry is as good as gone.
Lescott could be off too.

Re: Micah Richards

Professional football is a pretty extreme form of meritocracy. You are likely to get dispensed with if you don't make yourself indispensable.

It would be a wrench to lose him but Micah needs to make his case on the pitch. Hope he does.

Notice the Mirror said the same about Lescott yesterday.

It's the Mirror again but there are quotes from Micha himself.

Thanks.

So that's Richards and Lescott they claim are unhappy. Bet it'll be Hart tomorrow if pants starts today.

Re: Micah Richards

we are gonna end up with no english players at all, none of them are playing. It would make me sad if micah left tbh

Re: Micah Richards

For a player who has been in the too flight since he was just a teen, he has not developed a footballing brain whatsoever.

Micah Richards

In Micah's situation a bit of a "head down and work like a demon" approach may be more fitting. He is one of the fixtures and fittings at the club, and a really good player, but the club has moved on while he has had a succession of injuries.

All players, regardless of nationality and loyalty, need to work hard to justify their place in the team. A place in your position is not a birth right, it's an earned privilege and only given to those who prove that they merit selection above those in situ.

Re: Micah Richards

time to recruit English young talents that can still improve. we can nurture them to play with with flair, creativity, good technique and importantly, has football brain also with right attitude.

we should after U21 english player like luke shaw, will hughes, john stones, eric dier, jack robinson, liam moore, etc.

we should try to fill as many of english player in a roles like back 4 and defensive midfielder.
