Micah Richards Is Quitting Man City

I can't be mithered reading all the posts on this thread but I categorically tell you that it's bullshit.

I bumped into Micah last night in town and he's going nowhere. I asked him what was going on, he told me he had been injured rather than dropped. He said because Pab Zab has done so well that he couldn't and wouldn't expect to just get his place back. To be fair to him he said he fully intends to fight for his place and he knows that's going to take some hard work on his part.

Granted he's not been that great of late, but knowing he now has to battle for the RB position it might shock him into bucking his ideas up.

So Micah Richards flies back from playing in a match in Macedonia on Friday night and is out on the town in Manchester on Saturday? And he is a dedicated City player? Makes you wonder why Mark Hughes is not overwhelmed by his attitude doesn't it?
Disregarding the fact that the game was at home and that he might not have been out on the town, that post is ridiculous. Do you want him to stay at home with his slippers on when he's got a couple of days off?

I can see this being true actually. The angle of the story seems to suggest it's been leaked by his people. If the journalist was just making it up, he'd have gone with the "Hughes Sees No Future for Micah" angle as it'd be much more newsworthy.

Don't believe for one second that we'd get 15m for him though.

I can see it being true too ...... i reckon Richards is well brassed off he's lost his England place , it's all about prestige with him , and probably doesn't think he'll get it back whilst he's at City , under Hughes ........ and no doubt his nightclub mates have suggested he might have more luck elsewhere.
I don't think it's true at all. I think he has been injured as I think he is Mark Hughes's first choice at right back. If he had not been happy with his attitude why would he have stuck with him the way he has done when he has obviously not been playing consistently well for at least 12 months? He could have sold him over the summer.

I know that some people on here would love to see him go but who have we got to replace him? Like I said earlier in the thread only a fool would 'let him go tomorrow' as some posters may wish but Mark Hughes is no fool and Micah will stay and fight for his place in the starting line up.

Hetho did not make this up.

a 21 year old right back that has everything but a little bit more experience that will come soon enough.

its a no brainer really.

Not fussed to be perfectly honest, just this summer we allowed a much more talented academy "prospect" to leave the club, and Richards no longer requires to be molly-coddled since he no longer qualifies as a "prospect".

We no longer have any room for sentiment and if Richards isn't up to the job then he must be replaced.

There are much more talented players out there with a much better attitude who'd jump at the chance we're currently offering.

The favouritism of young English academy products isn't productive, unless of course they have the ability. Micah has shown precious little ability, unless of course being able to bench press Richard Dunne is now considered "ability".

Nedum Onouha is the one player who I'm solely concerned about losing due to our new found wealth. He has the ability, he has the athleticism, the understanding of the game and the correct attitude to reach the top of the game.

All Richards has ever displayed is pace and strength, and now he's bereft of one of those attributes leaving him with the sole "ability" of being built like Popeye.

If Richards leaving allows Nedum a smoother path to the first team, and results in us buying a top draw European fullback then it'll be within the greater good of the club - it's time we stopped trying to draw blood from a stone with English "prospects", it's not within our interests to pander to individuals anymore.

And that applies to all of our talented youngsters, including Nedum.

Selling Micah is a strategic problem, it goes against the development policy our owner has committed himself to.

I am in now way having a go here BB, but now matter how well you do or don't know Micah, I'm pretty sure he won't tell a fan that sort of information. There's a chance people may blurt it out on a fans' forum!! He has said what most other players would tell fans who randomly ask them stuff in the street. Now what he told you may be 100% factual, but then again, for obvious reasons, it may not.
