Micah Richards the pundit

I completely agree with him! He makes some very good points in his article, even if Costa only got us an extra 10 goals it could make a huge difference. He’d be perfect on a short term contract til summer.

If Costa was capable of getting 10 goals he wouldn't have been let go by Atleti. He's only managed 9 goals total in the last 3 seasons, and 3 of those were penalties.

Now, I don't blame you for not knowing just how shit Diego Costa is these days, because you probably don't watch Spanish football. You wouldn't know that he can barely run, and the fight has gone, and he's just...shit.

But you're not being paid a lot to write a column by the BBC, Micah should be ashamed of this article, it's so fucking lazy and if he spoke to anyone in Spain who reports on Spanish football they'd have told him it was a non-starter.

Might as well recommend signing Raul

I watched his documentary on racism last night. Not groundbreaking but he asked some good questions. Nice to see him with his dad and at his old school. He became a little emotional when meeting and describing his old primary school teacher who helped him on his way. The man was a lovely contrast to all the stories of racism and prejudice and nicely demonstrated what the world could be like if we all shared his values. Worth watching.

I know what you mean but I always thought the man of the match award should go to the best player on the pitch, not the best player from the weaker or the losing side due to some kind of sympathy vote.

I would probably agree but I think Phil Foden is going to win a lot bigger awards through his career so happy for the Cheltenham lad to have his day in the sun.

He needs a better agent, Micah is already in danger of becoming over exposed.

I see no reason for him continuing to freelance across Sky, BBC and BT Sport, coupled with the column in Daily Mail.

Sky does seem the best fit for him because of his rapport with Keane and Souness, but there is a fine line to be walked between likeability and annoying, which comes with being over exposed across various platforms.

His technical understanding of the game is quite limited and, like Thierry Henry, there comes a moment where all the goodwill previously built up, whether it stems from being a great player or likeable personality, is exposed due to not really offering anything apart from some charisma and a barrage of superlative words.

I actually prefer Joleon. He seemed extemely uncomfortable at first but you can see he has worked hard on his punditry and dovetails quite nicely with Wio on the technical discussions.

Micah is becoming the male version of Alex Scott....he's everywhere! Like Jim Royle said "Like shit in a field"
Hope he stops his campaign for Foden to play more....I was actually thinking he needs a rest as he's played a lot recently! Also Costa? I'd rather we had Edin back for 6 months!

It is just a bit of a cliche - recommending a striker that has 'done it in the Premier League'. He is simply not that player anymore and we are on a great winning run with a squad that clearly are together and making chances. In my view, the argument for a traditional frontman is not straightforward: we may not create half the chances with one that we create now. Now, Dzeko is on his way from Roma and if we wanted a finisher who can really cut it in the air, give me him over Costa any day of the week.
