Micah Richards

Whatever anyone thinks of Micah, he definitely shouoldn't be on the pitch at the same time as Navas. It's been obvious on every occasion yet every time Micah plays he seems to have Navas in front of him.

It looked promising in the Milan friendly.

TBF, it took a while for Zaba to get to grips with how to play with Navas as well. We haven't had a right footed right winger since SWP
I thought things looked promising between Navas and Zabaleta straight away. Not perfect but you could tell it would work. Micah and Navas just looks like a total non starter to me. Both of them instantly look shit when they play together and I'm not convinced that Micah has the footballing intelligence to work out how to play with him.

The way Micah lumbers around at the moment there is scarcely room for anyone else on the pitch. Is he still doing a lot of weights? He seems to be getting bigger and less agile when he needs to reduce his size and become more agile. You have got to think the club have identified the problem - maybe it's down to the persistent injuries.

Sentimental feelings aside both Mancini and now Pellegrini don't have much faith in Micah Richards at all.

The biggest liability at the club, both on and off the pitch.

Oldham have a 20 per cent sell-on clause and we will end up with peanuts this summer.

His game now consists of swallow dives, feigning injury to help him get his breath back, ambling back, standing ten yards from his man, running into Navas' space, overrunning the ball into touch at an crossing attempt, and not knowing who to throw the ball to.

Apart from that he's supposedly good enough to be an understudy to the best right back in the entire league.

We may get peanuts but we won't be paying him £80k a week for the next 5 years - phew.

If this is true, then why has his game deteriorated?

I think it's inevitable his game has gone backwards when he just isn't played. I'd like to see the affect of Vinny or Aguero's game if they didn't play.

I know Richards has injury problems, but those are worsened if you just don't play him. As it happens he was one of our better players against Wigan.

Another black mark against Pellegrini. Rodwell, and to an extent Lescott and Milner are in a similar position. If you don't use your playing assets sufficiently then their playing value diminishes. Ferguson was expert at getting the most out of his squad players, and he kept them all ticking over. We have barely played these players at all, and then fans moan at their lack of form. Look at the bigger picture.

Almost £4m a year, we will be lucky to end up with £7m once Oldham take their cut.

To think, Oldham once refused an offer of £2.5m to tear up that clause!

West Ham, Sunderland, Newcastle, Villa, these are clubs who would still be daft enough to pay Micah what he wants.

It's all about opinions but I thought his first half performance was shocking against Wigan - and was pretty much on a par with his sub standard performance against Watford. I accept he has been injured but watching his last few performances he looks too big a risk to start him in the first team. I accept he may improve with game time but can we afford to risk him in the 12 league games we have left.

I think it's the end of the line for Micah - but do recall him playing some of his best football for us at CB.

Interestingly neither Mancini nor Pellegrini have given him a chance there. I would have liked to see him play there though before we right him off. Clearly we won't now though.

Jerome boateng couldn't get a game at CB, he hasn't done bad since leaving.

What a load of rubbish " biggest liability on and off" he's a great player when fit. He hardly been a liability or a hindrance to the team. He is good enough the title season proved he was when more often then not he was better than zaba

An utterly disgraceful comment about our longest serving senior player.

If he's such a liability then why did the club offer him a new deal last summer?
