I am actually quite shocked to see quite a few people rate Micah higher than Zabs.

Micah is an able deputy but not on Zabs level.

I've a feeling Micah will prove you wrong this year.

Nice problem to have. What Zab is is a great squad member of course, and a good player to have on the bench as he can play at left back and holding midfielder in a crisis.

I think alot of people are forgetting the only reason Zab got the run in the team he did was down to Micah's injury. Of course he did fantastic but its not like he had anyone contending for his place as Maicon was shit

More than happy if he does.

Over the last two years, and it maybe down to injury problems, Zabs has proven he is better in both defense and attack and this has been recognised by fans players and pundits with widespread acknowledgement that he is one of the best in europe.

If Micah stays fit he's the best right back without a shadow of a doubt. Faster, stronger, better going forward, in the air and a real threat at set pieces. I'm struggling to think of anyone better in that position in world football than a fit and firing Micah Richards.

Zab is better in attack?

Zab will run into the space on the right but he can't get around a fullback and he can't cross. He's a very solid defender who has learned to work around the limitations of his game - pace. But last year, with our narrow system, Zab's ineffectiveness going forward cost us. It's one of the reasons we stuggled to break down defensive teams.

Great option to have- if Micah steps up on what zab did last year, who was the stand out right back in the league, then he'll be one of the best around Europe- they'll both get time however, Micah may edge it in the prem but I'd go zab all day long for the champs league!

The aims of having 2 players in each position are cover but also horses for courses. Micah when we play lower teams - especially at home, Zabba when we will have less of the ball and they have an out and out winger. Zabba in most cases in the Champs League.

Good thing is I would not swap either of them for anyone in the Premier League

People always refer to him being faster, stronger etc. and this is true.....he is a great athlete. But the problem is his lack of defensive quality/positional skills against top players and top teams.

If he can improve that part of his game then he would be a world beater for sure.

Horses for courses IMO. The game at the Emirates could have been a 1-6 style mauling had Micah played.

I dont view as one higher or first choice than the other it just depends who and where we are playing

I wonder if Richards could cover for Nasty at CB so Zab could start the season at RB?
