Micah Richards

He gets injured making his cornflakes... corners of the press continue to pretend he just can't get in the team and his absence has nothing to do with constant injuries. What a shame, he is the only academy player around the first team but his injuries are endless.

He's managed only 177 Premier League games in 8 (entering the 9th) seasons in the first team. Kompany is on 152 games in 5 (entering his 6th) seasons even with his own injury issues.

So comes the dilemma, what do you do if Arsenal come in with a panic offer of £15m to £20m? There would be outrage if we sold Micah as he is the symbol of the academy, the proof to kids someone can make it... but he's hardly ever bloody fit. I mean this could be his last injury for two seasons for all we know, or he could end up with another in a few weeks time and the cycle could continue.

I think it actually works in our favour that he's injury prone. If he weren't he'd probably still end up being second choice to Zab, and then I think he'd agitate for a move. As it stands, his injuries play into our hands in terms of keeping him. For the club it's a no brainer, you keep him because he's homegrown and because he offers something Zaba doesn't.

Also think with his pace he might get a chance to play as a centre half with the high line we're using.
Billy, can I just say that your idea that Micah's injuries play into our hands is so far off the wall as to be in the next house!!

My off the wall ideas have been known to occasionally be bang on the money ... ;)

....although 3 and a bit years is quite a long time to come to fruition.

Out for a month. His injury record is an utter joke these days. Injured all last season and looks set to continue this season. If it carries out we need to get shut. Biggest sick note at the club. It's a shame as he is brilliant when fit.

Injury prone, wrong physique unfortunately. Ball control is poor. Stretches in challenges, unfortunately like Vinnie. Positional sense poor. Probably best when facing the play, at the back. In this squad he would feature only against the weaker teams when fit.

Total bollocks Richards was a massive reason we won the league. Missed him horribly last year as zab is nowhere near the threat he is going forward or at set pieces. Zabba was excellent last year but a fully fit Richards would always be my first choice.

A bit harsh. Historically he's been much better going forward than Zabba who for all his endeavours didn't actually produce much in the final third. That said, Zabba has been getting better recently, but I still think Micah is a better attacking option.

And regards positionally poor, Zabba gets into shocking defensive positions all the time, so not much to choose between them in that department.

Overall, I might even choose Micah as first pick if he wasn't injured all the effing time.

As I said a last year, I think the full back demands are breaking him down. All that running up and down the pitch, frequent high energy bursts... He's a big lad, many pounds of muscles to carry around the pitch, weight which males it harder for him stamina wise. And when out of breath you tend to be more prone to make mistakes, tactically, physically and so on.

I think he could be an outstanding centre back, which I think he has proved those few times he played in that position. They say the best way to predict the future is to look at the past, a past which in Micah's case would suggest he's will fall apart again, and again...

I'd welcome the idea of getting in a new right wing back, train Micah in a new position, - RCB. He's got the perfect attributes for that already, strength, pace and... hmm... What word do you use in English to describe someone as a "good jumper"?

@swp29 injury all good be training next week! Just a tweak of the hammy! I miss the banter days. Any chance u coming to manc or what?

He sent that tweet a few mins ago to SWP.

Good news if he is back in training next week.

For me its hard to see MP dropping Zab for Micah anytime soon.

Just stop it, we know it is your opinion by virtue of the fact it was fucking typed by you.

Micah>Pablo btw.
