Michael Johnson arrested again

£30k a week doesn't necessarily protect someone from things that affect the rest of us: stress, depression, addiction, etc. However it should be enough to finance a taxi home (as already pointed out) and a private clinic at his own expense.

He has to face up to his problems or continue down a slippery slope.

i noticed in your second last post you thought a stint in jail might do him good, how could prison do the boy any good.

For a start it will teach him that this is a consequence of drink driving

Secondly it may wake him up to the fact he has an alcohol problem and therefor seek help

that's a reasonable comment.

It's obvious the lad needs help, but I think we are at the stage he needs to start helping himself. A court recognised rehab program may save him gaol. Like others have said such a waste of talent.

It’s not so much the drinking that gets me, as a young lad he probably likes a drink like a lot on here. But why for Christ sake take the car. When your earning as much as he is, why not just use taxi’s/private hire, its not as though they are difficult to get. That’s the stupidity of him.

Got to agree. A wasted talent, that had so much promise.

I wish the lad well but ex-Plymouth player Luke McCormick is a prime example of the consequences of alcohol abuse/drink driving. MJ is lucky (if it is true) that there are no victims.

City have a good network of former players who have fought and fight depression etc.

Support the lad, his dreams look to have gone. Shame.

His dream was getting his bumper contract so he achieved it. If he wanted anything more he would have gone through the wall for it like most of us would.

The shame is that my over riding memory of him will now be a picture of an skinhead, unshaven, tub bellied fool rather than the dashing blonde athletic young footballer with vision, pace and eye for goal that we first envisaged.

He deserves everything he gets and the club should f**k him off! Ask the family of a child/parent who have been killed by someone driving pissed and had to identify their child/parent stitched back together after a post mortem on a cold mortuary slab because of some wanker who drinks and drives!
If he hasnt hurt anyone he has been lucky and we should have nothing more to do with this idiot!

I'm sure that he's had the opportunity to get help if that's what he needed - i.e he has an alcohol problem rather is just a complete areshole with no regard for anyone else he may have killed or injured.

Surely our medical team could identify someone who has a genuine drinking problem? Don't players go through a serious of health check ups and tests throughout the season? I'd have thought that on-loan players would be being checked out too seeing as City own them and they're still an asset.

He's 24, therefore not a 'lad', he's a man.....so can people on this thread stop referring to him as if he's 17. Time to tell him to fuck off and go find a job that will suit him, because if he is actually being paid £30k a week he's as bad as any of the others we have on the books who are doing fuck all for their wages - even worse, he just seems to go on the piss and eat pies.

As for the club helping him, I believe they've done as much as they can, it's time he looked after himself. As I said, he's a man and time to take responsibility for his own life.
