cleavers said:If charged and convicted he won't "do" any time, unless he was recklessly over the limit, my guess would be 12 month driving ban, and a fine - nobody else was involved in the accident.LoveCity said:How much time would he have to do for City to have a case for sacking him (getting his wages off the books without paying him off)?
If he's treated like most others for the same thing, then I doubt it will be much more than 18 months ban, (I assume its his first offence). He will have to be over 115mg breath test, or 264mg blood test to even be considered for a custodial sentence.Soulboy said:I suspect it will be more than just that.
You can't avoid accusations of pre-judgement just by shouting ALLEGEDLY. He's forfeited your sympathy even though you don't know if he was over the limit (and if he's not been charged, maybe this whole thread is a pre-judgement). Not that that means he hasn't APPARENTLY wasted his career by his lifestyle choices.jimharri said:If he wants to drink and piss his career away, fair enough. that's his choice. Pure stupidity, but hey-ho. Once he decides to get behind the wheel of a potentially deadly weapon while ALLEGEDLY over the limit means he forfeits any sympathy I might have had for him. A spell behind bars and actually ending up doing a ''proper'' job when he gets out might do him a favour and wake him up to the crass lunacy of what he's doing/ has done with his career.

I'm a bellend when I'm pissed so I dont drink. Its that easy.
And a bellend sober, having a drink problem is a serious illness.
I bet you are middle class.
no one is denying that....but since when is "getting into a car" whilst pissed a serious illness? Hope the club fuck this idiot right off
And what reason has he had to get this apparent drink problem?? He got a bad injury granted but was young enough to recover and come back and still build a fantastic career! No excuses... Took the easy way out and sat his fat arse on a bar stool instead of realising not only his dream but millions of us!Kun Aguero said:St Helens Blue (Exiled) said:Kun Aguero said:And a bellend sober, having a drink problem is a serious illness.

Because he has a drink problem, don't get me wrong NO ONE should drink and drive but the bloke clearly needs help, hopefully the FA or City will pay for his treatment.

Becoming dependent on alcohol
Alcohol can be a very effective way of feeling better for a few hours. If you are depressed and lacking in energy, it can be tempting to use alcohol to help you keep going and cope with life. The problem is that it is easy to slip into drinking regularly, using it like a medication. The benefits soon wear off and the drinking becomes part of a routine. You start to notice that:
■instead of choosing to have a drink, you feel you have to have it
■you wake up with shaky hands and a feeling of nervousness
■you start to drink earlier and earlier
■your work starts to suffer
■your drinking starts to affect your relationships
■you carry on drinking in spite of the problems it causes
■you find you have to drink more and more to get the same effect (tolerance)
■you start to ‘binge drink’ (see below) regularly.
