Sad really, he could have been a top player, we should get him off the books as we are funding his lifstyle till 2014 He had it all as well.
But he could have come into the club etc every day?? He CHOSE to get pissed constantly and there are no excuses! He could have killed someone!! With the money he's earned over the years if it cost him £1000 to get home it wouldn't affect his life?!!Kun Aguero said:richards30 said:And what reason has he had to get this apparent drink problem?? He got a bad injury granted but was young enough to recover and come back and still build a fantastic career! No excuses... Took the easy way out and sat his fat arse on a bar stool instead of realising not only his dream but millions of us!Kun Aguero said:Because he has a drink problem, don't get me wrong NO ONE should drink and drive but the bloke clearly needs help, hopefully the FA or City will pay for his treatment.
Is he your next door neighbour? Gazza was one of the best players in the world at one time but devolped a drink problem, Tony Adams to the best of my knowledge never had any demons. You don't have to have a reason to become Alcohol reliant.
Taken from the AA(not the car one)
Becoming dependent on alcohol
Alcohol can be a very effective way of feeling better for a few hours. If you are depressed and lacking in energy, it can be tempting to use alcohol to help you keep going and cope with life. The problem is that it is easy to slip into drinking regularly, using it like a medication. The benefits soon wear off and the drinking becomes part of a routine. You start to notice that:
■instead of choosing to have a drink, you feel you have to have it
■you wake up with shaky hands and a feeling of nervousness
■you start to drink earlier and earlier
■your work starts to suffer
■your drinking starts to affect your relationships
■you carry on drinking in spite of the problems it causes
■you find you have to drink more and more to get the same effect (tolerance)
■you start to ‘binge drink’ (see below) regularly.
I think he had too much money too soon and with fuck all to do whilst injured turned to drink.
Indeed! Innocent until proven guilty but, I have seen him knocking it back bigtime whilst "injured" and can see why people will jump to conclusions!mammutly said:A lot of jumping to conclusions going on here.
Perhaps it's worth recalling that one Georgi Kinkladze totalled his Ferrari near Manchester airport before the days of automatically doing alcohol checks on anyone involved in an accident.....

I'm sure he earns enough to pay for his own treatment.
