Always a shame when a young man with talent (and issues) turns to drink or other excesses in life.
Understandable? yes it is - a lot of money, a lot of spare time, a lot of hype and often, very little guidance or grounding to deal with it.
Manchester City as employers have a duty of care to try and help any player struggling with issues, but they also have a responsibility to other players and the wider community.
If they can guide him in the path of professionals who can help him - great, but they can't afford to be represented by him either.
His contract (if possible) should be terminated.
As for drink driving? yes it's moronic, and costs lives. But so does speeding, and yet well ALL do it. We all do stupid things, and sometimes, the repercussions are truly awful.
Anyway, I digress.
Goodbye Mr M Johnson. Get well and farewell.
