Tony Blair in discussions to run transitional Gaza authority

As someone who, whilst in the Army many moons ago, worked alongside the British-run (and Blair appointed) Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq, I can see no problems at all with this plan....

Those words would carry more gravity, and credibility, had they not left that ****'s mouth. Good to see the rapper case has been thrown out, correct decision.

It's heartening to see yet another Mediterranean state protect the flotilla. Though I do worry the more states that offer assistance, the more likely it is we see violent retaliation from a scummy IDF general.

The medical workers there are fucking incredible. I mean there were 2 women the other day explaining how they helped deliver a baby from a mother who'd been decapitated.

In the documentary Gaza: Medics under attack (that the bbc shelved due to 'impartiality concerns') it shows the doctors at the start working in a hospital in the dark (with a spotlight) and the main doctor (Adnan al-Bursh) explains that they don't have water or electricity, but he explains how what he does have are the 'heroes' around him - skilled medics working their bollocks off risking their lives in the worst conditions trying to save peoples lives and limbs. Truly the best of humanity. Just found a little clip here - Channel 4 Dispatches

The lead doctor at the start of the clip (Adnan al-Bursh) was taken away by israel and tortured to death in prison.

From the United Nations- "Tlaleng Mofokeng, UN Special Rapporteur on the right to health, said she was “horrified” by the news.

“He was detained while undertaking his duty to patients and caring for them according to the oath he took as a medical practitioner … he died for trying to protect the rights to life and health of his patients,” she said.

The expert underscored the need for an independent probe.

“Dr. Adnan’s case raises serious concerns that he died following torture at the hands of Israeli authorities. His death demands an independent international investigation,” the Special Rapporteur said."

As always with israel, no one was ever he'd accountable for his brutal and despicable murder.

Re blair - The butcher of iraq who murdered hundreds of thousands of civilians based on complete lies should be absolutely nowhere near anything to do with the middle east, or anywhere else but a prison cell for the rest of his diabolical life

It can’t get any worse than what’s happening now in Gaza, it’s not a fair fight Hamas have no weapons all they have are hostages and bombing Doha proves Israel doesn’t give a damn about the hostages.
Israel admits killing thirty thousand Hamas ? the order is two to one of innocent civilians so ninety thousand people are dead these are the Israeli figures, it’s going to be hard to make it worse.
