As the saying goes every accusation is a confession. We already know that charred bodies mean fucjk all to you even if it is inflicted by the murderous cult that you are immersed in.

This thread really does not need to descend into tit-for-tat name calling when there is a situation so serious, with such a global reach.

I cannot grasp some people's take on events when upto 200,000 Palestinians have been killed by weapons supplied by the UK and US, yet the words 'murderous cult' are used to describe Hamas/Palestine.

As a genuine question, why would anyone (especially in the absence of Western journalists in Gaza) dismiss the findings of Human Rights Watch, the International Association of Genocide Scholars, Doctors Without Borders, Amnesty International, and the Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention, who all state that Israel is committing a genocide?

Are we so entrenched in our political views that such evidence is routinely dismissed?

Now, I expect that someone will ask me how I can dismiss the atrocities committed by Hamas, especially on October 7th. I don't dismiss something so appalling, and I feel for the families of all those who have been lost, but then I think to the formation of Hamas in 1987 and a conflict that began 40 years earlier, so I cannot blame Hamas for what has happened. They seem, to me, to be a symptom of the occupation, in much the same way as the IRA emerged. I also think about the gradual seizure of land by Israel, and imagine myself in a position where my home was being cuckooed by someone under the threat of force. I cannot imagine the pain of that, and the utter helplessness.

As I said earlier, it seems to me that thinking just on a human level leads to a very definite sense of right and wrong, not right versus left.

Hamas has subsequently said they have no intention of disarming and Israel has said it will proceed to blow up Hamas tunnels. So what has actually been agreed? The signatories are just confirming that they all agree to the cease fire plan, but the warring factions are not involved. Those factions have at least started to release hostages and prisoners. That’s it. Brilliant! Carry on fighting.

Any deal that brings a pause to the fighting should be recognised, but you are correct. The tragedies witnessed over the past two years must serve as an urgent reminder that future generations deserve better than the failures of the past.
Tragedies have gone on for 80 years, not two.

friendly and mutually beneficial relationship between Israel and its regional neighbors.
Naming Israel alone does not seem give equality of value.

My point is they may not be able to retrieve the bodies, if it’s been crushed beyond recognition and then rotting for two years and it’s amongst a hundred other bodies, how are they supposed to know what body is what, if they can retrieve them at all, it’s not like they’ll have hundreds of diggers and the right equipment to suddenly dig those bodies out, the Israelis know this as well, so stopping the aid trucks is a cunts trick.

Putin had organised a summit with Arab leaders they cancelled last minute to attend the 'ceasefire' signing.

The whole event seems to be a political cock waving exercise.

That sounds like there's at least one person in the Trump camp prepared to stand up to Israel's propaganda - including the expectation that all deceased hostages were just being kept somewhere - whereas the US ambassador to Israel (Mike Huckabee) isn't quite so measured: "As grateful as I am for the 20 living hostages set free by @realDonaldTrump deal, I will not forget that Hamas is still holding remains of several hostages they murdered including Americans Itay Chen & Omer Neutra. Pray they too come home-NOW!"
 
Politicians of every persuasion have come out and lambasted West Mids police for banning Maccabi Tel Aviv fans attending their game against Villa.

Every single one has come out and described it as Anti-Semitic.

We are literally at a point where you cannot say/do anything about Israel committing genocide without being labelled a Jew hater. It’s absurd!

If Russia are banished from international sport, then I fail to see what’s inconsistent about Israeli sporting participants being subject to restrictions.

Seems completely proportionate to me.
