Middle East Conflict

No it's not acceptable but it's gone on for decades, not sure why this is is any different to the countless other times
When was the last time people were attacked at a football match because of their nationality?
(Note: A football team coming from another country and being attacked isn't a valid answer here).

How is it any different ?
People acting like cunts and attacking other fans happens all the time, for many different reasons.
It shouldn't have happened & i truly hope all the Israeli fans are ok but their nations actions have appalled people right across the globe & sadly made them targets.

I certainly don't agree with Israel's actions but people being attacked at football games because of their nationality isn't acceptable.

I don't like the Russians invading Ukraine but I wouldn't go attacking their fans if we were playing a Russian team in the champions league.

It's probably right that Israeli teams are banned from the champions league, as the Russian teams were. Tbh there isn't really a good reason for having them as UEFA members.

They can have their own standalone association or be more friendly to their neighbours and compete in their own region.

I feel for any innocent people who were attacked. Trouble is there were Maccabi fans and locals who were anything but innocent and out to provoke and/or attack. No excuse for violence on either side, or criminal damage like pulling down flags. If fans or locals are singing prejudicial chants then arrest them. Presumably they have hate crime legislation in the Netherlands.

You're preaching to the wrong crowd really. Tottenham probably had the worst racist abuse out of any club in the world for over 50 years. How many clubs up and down the country sang about Belsen, Austwitz and pro Hitler songs?

As for Ajax, they have always been staunch Israeli for decades. There hasn't been a big issue for it, maybe some of them Italian clubs and Eastern European backward countries.

Amsterdam for me, in European history, is one of the most liberal cities there has ever been. Centuries of acceptance. This is sad what has happened, football and politics should never mix. Unfortunately, and you're well aware, that many posters celebrated Spurs fans getting stabbed by Lazio far right fans. There still lays some deep-seated hatred for the Jewish community.

The Israeli conflict will only add to that and now we see its becoming a common occurrence
Not sure you’ll get much sympathy when your own fan base still chant Yid army.

All those missed World Cups since 1970 ...... could have been a normal country.
