Middle East Conflict

So Hamas surrender and the current cycle of suffering stops (highly improbable). What of the civilians that have died, will their families want revenge and start a campaign like Hamas? Should they want justice for their family and loved ones being killed?

Like an Israeli soldier above tried to say their war is with all civilians as well as Hamas (someone tried to justify it by saying it’s because he’s lost his mother so it’s understandable he feels like that) should the Palestinians be doing the same? Take the war to Israeli civilians?

It seems like a never ending cycle.

There is a saying that a system based on injustice can never prosper.

Would you have the isralis do nothing after last weekend?

They should find the people responsible for last weeks attack and punish them. They should certainly not kill innocent people as that’ll ensure this cycle of seeking revenge keeps going.

To say it’s impossible to find people responsible for the attacks last week amongst civilians is taking the easy route to satisfy their revenge wish.

He could be rightly to pissed off at the moment what with his mother being murdered to be actually reflecting the thoughts of the Israeli people though.
Well why is he allowed to do a media interview then? What sort of amateurish operation are they running over there? Can you imagine a British or American soldier being allowed to go on international TV and just vent their personal opinions on a military operation? Or perhaps what he's saying is actually what a lot of them think and is implicitly what those in power think too, which is why they seem to have little problem with it being publicly stated.

This is the big problem that all politicians have. The need to be seen to do something. Anything. Regardless of whether it will actually help the situation.

Of course there are plenty of people in that administration who have wanted to do this for a long time, and need an excuse that's credible to their bosses in America.

This is why it is important for the powerful players, most notably the US, to stop blindly backing Israel and find a fair and equitable solution for both sides.
Because the end result of that would be another Holocaust

So he speaks for the entire IDF -every single one of them?
