It's those accords that have brought this latest round of violence to the fore. it basically ignored the plight of the Palestinians, and lead governments in the West to think that the situation can "managed" which gave the far right Israeli government the green light to expand settlements and carry out provocations against the West bank Palestinians, furthermore they built a wall around Gaza and when the prisoners were well behaved they allowed a few out and a bit of aid in, they built settlements right next to the Gaza border like they were taunting the inhabitants
It frustrates the hell out me, I have lived over there I have Israeli friends who knew it was going to explode soon or later. yet I read stuff on here that portrays it as a Black and White situation, yes of course Hamas is a bad actor backed by Iran who have their own reasons, and the killing of innocent Israelis was a terrible thing and those behind it deserve the full weight of justice, the the innocent Palestinian Civilians don't deserve to be bombed and have there very basic lives ruined, it's kind of like some people think this is perfectly acceptable and they brought it upon themselves
