Middle East Conflict

1) She isn't an expert. 2) She's employed by Israel.

A masters in international law doesn't make someone an expert. I'm not sure she even has the qualifications to be a junior lecturer.

Maybe go find the the actual experts who work in the ICC or similar levels of courts if you want an actual expert.

Doesn't have the qualifications to be a junior lecturer????????
You stated that you researched her background, if you did, that's embarrassing.

BTW - I 100% agree with you that she isn't impartial.

As Confucius said, those seeking vengeance better dig two graves!

Actions taken in fury and rage are seldom wise, ask the Americans after 9/11, the invasion of Iraq the failed Afghan war for example

You can’t destroy an idea that has taken root, nor destroy an enemy whose fighters don’t mind being killed

What you can do, is cure the conditions that create such things, as a famous Israeli phychologist said about suicide bombers, they don’t wake up full of joy and hope and decide to blow themselves up

Violence begats violence the cycle needs to be broken

That’s the thing really. Nothing is ever sorted in rage or revenge. Settlement doesn’t always come with justice either.

Israel had to act due to the scale and barbarity of the attack. There is a bit of me that thinks the most powerful act they could have done (and one that would have had more of a neutralising effect on Hamas and any subsequent force to come in its wake) would have been to say “our response to this is to further our efforts to normalise relations with Saudi and other countries in the region” and focussed entirely on that.

Was never realistically going to happen as any country suffering the attack they did would have felt compelled to respond and particularly the government they have too, it would have needed unbelievably strong leadership to do it, but that statement could have been more powerful and impactful than any bombs or ground invasions, and would have saved a lot of civilian lives in the process too.

Would have been a very interesting alternative reality to see what happened at the very least.

Does everyone feel the same about the displacement and deaths of millions of Syrians and the deaths of thousands of Yemenites as well their humanitarian issues? Not seen a huge thread about it so thought I would comment here. Presume there have been huge protest rallies around the UK?
What about Tibet?

I've read some shit on here but that takes the biscuit.
You don't agree that Corbyn and his mob are rabid anti-semites? Then explain to me why, for or all his many tweets over the last few weeks there isn't a single one condemning Hamas? The only one I could find was a supportive one towards them from 2011. He is so idelogically wed with the idea of ending Israel that he hasn't made a single statement condemning the terror attacks without trying to gain political capital for the very cause they were seeking to advance. Perhaps he thinks the terror attacks were another Jewish conspiracy?

How can those attending demonstrations with people who openly sympathise with Hamas, are calling for Jihad, chanting their slogans and calling for Israel to be abolished be anything other than anti-semites?

It's a bit like attending an anti-immigration rally with members of the National Front but then claiming not to be a racist.
Blast from the past.

"Anti-Zionism denies the very legitimacy of the Israeli state and of the Jewish people.”

Can't disagree with any of that.

I’m far from a fan of Corbyn but he has condemned the Hamas attack. Not sure if you’re looking further than Twitter for it though, no idea what he’s tweeted.

He has condemned the attacks without specifically condemning or even naming Hamas. Subtle but significant difference.
