I don't think Hamas care how many innocent people die in Gaza.

In fact, the more the merrier from their POV. Ideal atrocity propaganda to stir the Arab world into fury and, maybe, cause the overthrow of moderate Arab Governments. (Those that don't want to murder every Israeli.)

I think Israel has a very difficult hand to play. Getting security for their people will not be cheap or easy, and it could start a major war in the area.

They've gone straight to bombing the building because they've got a cockroach problem.

Trouble is they are cockroaches.......

It'd be better to stop them breeding surely.

This is the essential dilemma. Hamas has a noxious doctrine (they still cite the Protocols of the Elders of Zion as fact) but their poison is still a minority view in Islam. But the greatest threat to the existence of Israel may be not from Hamas but from Muslim states (and the rest of the world) seeing the point of what Hamas say about the plight of the Palestinians.

What did Hamas think was going to happen? They are to blame as much as the Israelis, maybe the rest of the Arab world im looking at Saudi here should come out and publicly denounce them. It’s time for the Arab world if they truely want peace to come together and stop this, I know the Israelis are no saints either but for me if the Middle East as a whole condemned Hamas it may go a long way to help reign in Israel, UAE, Egypt, Saudi etc could tell Iran, Hamas etc to fucking do one and see how that plays out.
