Middle East Conflict

Yes, I'm saying that a small country would never be allowed to drag the world into a nuclear war. They have no right to do so. So they would be neutralised by the superpower.

If the choice is nuclear war or them ceasing to be a Jewish country anymore, they cease to be a Jewish country.

At the current rate Israel is going it's a single secular state or collapse, attrocities commited against them and expulsion. Make peace embrace one of the solutions on the table or follow the path of destruction.
Pure fantasy.
If israel is likely to cease to exist then every state around them would likely cease to exist as well. Probably triggering enhilation for the rest if us as well.

Hmm. Let us start with the USA,EU,GB, Russia..my word what are you talking about ?? Have you been hibernating for the last 50 years ?? Afghanistan,Iraq,Isis,Syria to name but a few. Can you explain who was fighting the extremsits in those countires please ?? We even fight them in our own countries.
Unfortunately posters like yourself are very adept at making disparaging remarks, with no positive attempts to think about a way forward. You simply make broad meaningless comments, but perhaps say something positive for once and do not knock people for actually thinking how to stop this situation.
We tried it once. In 1946-48 and our troops kept getting killed by both sides. After the destruction of the King David Hotel in 1946 by Irgin jewish terrorists.
In the aftermath we wanted out - and setup to leave in 1948.
I doubt we or anyone else would get involved again as it would only mean some of our soldiers returning in body bags.
Israel wouldn't accept Russians or probably any non-democratic nation forces either.

I can't imagine for one moment that a one-state solution is acceptable to either party, so it's a two-state solution, I guess. Many problems, the two most obvious being removing settlements and disarming Hamas, Hezbollah and the rest. Needs a strong US and a US that is willing to negotiate with Iran, imo. Unfortunately, the US isn't going to be strong or brave for a long time, by the look of it.

How many Muslim countries live as secular states? Not a single one of them. All Muslim countries abide by Islamic law and for many of those countries there is no freedom of religion. Just for example atheists in Saudi Arabia are classed as terrorists and anyone who is not Sunni is essentially a second class citizen.
Your exact words and you were told that many Muslim Countries are secular states, and now you are going around the houses, I’m not even arguing with you on the rest of your post, just the simple fact that you are building your case on facts that are wrong, it’s like debating with a fucking pidgeon

Walter?

I see the Hamas leader walked out of an interview with the BBC in Qatar when asked about murdering Israeli citizenns.
Anyone who thinks Hamas are possible to deal with gas lost touch with reality.
Hamas are dedicated to Jihad and the genocide of Isreali Jews.
Hamas's 2017 policy statement hasn't abrogated the 1988 charter but it was not advocating genocide. Their proposal was an Islamic country in which Muslims, Jews and Christians would live free to practice their faith (so probably more liberal than Saudi Arabia). It might be wildly unrealistic (and rejects a two-state solution) but it's better than advocating genocide.

While they're not admitting the atrocities of October 7th, some of the leaders seem to want to be distanced from it. Small comfort, I know, but maybe also a small glimmer of hope in what looks hopeless. Maybe.

You really think the usa would allow that to happen?

I said superpower of the day. So I've not made the assumption that it would be the USA.

But yes I do. Why would they back an Israel that were untrustworthy and threatening Nuclear war?

Even if Oil and natural gas are replaced, you don't get to fuck around with jeopardising the world's main shipping route and get away with it.

A weak Israel is not something that the USA desires, but they aren't going to come to the rescue of a weak Israel. Not when it requires starting nuclear war or getting involved in a long conflict in the middle east.

Israeli news conference presented evidence that Hamas command and control centres and major entrances to the "Gaza Metro" tunnel systems are situated beneath hospitals - with pretty good evidence to back it up.
Hardly surprising.
Hamas doesn't care a jot for Palestinians.
