Middle East Conflict

He wasn't saying it was funny, he was saying that if it there had been genocide the population would go down not up

It isn't genocide, of course. If it is anything, it looks more like a potential ethnic cleansing.

But Hamas aren't an existential threat to Israel either, no matter what their rhetoric is. So there is a lot of bullshit spoken on both sides. As in any conflict.

I served in the British army and I can tell you that they are targeting civilians with those strikes too there is no way on earth there are anywhere near enough Positively Identifiable Hamas targets for the amount of ordnance being used. Perhaps if they concentrated on legitimate targets alone they could neutralise the rocket threat. If not then conduct intelligence led SF raids along side that. Of course seeking dialogue with Hamas is the best option. It suited Mr Netanyahu in the past when it served a purpose for him.
With 500 -1000 strikes in Gaza by Israel every day for 2 weeks that is around 10,000 high powered explosive missiles

There is no way it is not bombing of civilians.

Otherwise we are being asked to believe that Israeli intelligence knows exactly where 10,000 Hamas sites are, this being the same Israeli Intelligence that had absolutely no idea about the Hamas incursion before it happened.

Surely Hamas, an organisation/government that admits genocide is it's aim, needs to be stopped. Does anyone disagree with that statement? The problem then becomes how Hamas can be stopped and brought to justice and who should do it. If the UN, the international community, the Palestinians themselves, the Palestinian supporters don't want to do anything about Hamas then what option do the Israeli's have? Idea's anyone? Does it just become justice based on maths, you kill 1000 of us and we will kill 1000 of you?

Lots on here do! -They think that over 2 million Palestinians should continue to live under a despotic terrorist regime in Gaza.
That they should continue to live without democracy.
That they should continue to live without the right to free speech.
That they should live without a functioning civil or criminal judicial system.
That they should continue to be denied access to reasonable health services or education.
That women in Palestine should not be allowed to travel without permission from the man who owns them.
That they should contiue to live under an entirely corrupt economic regime where money is syphoned off to the bank accounts of terrorist leaders living the life of luxury abroad.
That they should be victims of continuous harassment and subject to capricius punishment, torture and even exececution for disobeying their terrorist masters whims.
That they should continue to owe their existence to the charity of strangers and be barred from making any sort of future for themselves or their families.

Can you imagine these posters expressing the same views about people who were forced to live under Hamas' mates Daesh 4 years ago? "Oh the Yazidis just need to suck it up and get on with it."

The 3rd Article of the Geneva Convention, which regulates these sorts of asymmetric conflicts explicitly forbids the taking of hostages.

I've not seen many demanding Hamas also respects it.
Hamas are a terrorist organisation so are not expected to adhere to the Geneva convention.
