Middle East Conflict

You think?
Hamas would never under report casualties in a billion years?
There are also generally warnings before each strike (not always but mostly).
Also it's in their interests to bolster numbers.
Do you believe
That’s because they do and they are both right.

The manner in which they defend themselves can be rightly questioned and challenged and that is rightly being done but to suggest both leaders are shithouses because they say Israel has a right to defend itself is ridiculous.

Both have very publicly said that innocent Palestinian civilians must be protected at all costs and that aid should be allowed in.
Nobody is arguing that Israel doesn't have a right to defend itself. But its evident that they've gone past that. Both those dickheads know it too.

I’ll drop this here for anyone who has the patience or the time to go through what starts off very slowly, but in my view is well worth the effort to get to the very end.

This man is almost 95 years old now and there is nothing wrong with his memory or any other part of his faculties.

I’m sure not all will agree with him, but I found him fascinating and an ideal part of my own education on this subject.

Rishi Rich who was also known as Doctor Death by Epidemiologists?

And a man who lied to get elected and has kept lying since?

You might be being a bit generous there.

The Scottish first minister did, the Irish PM did.

Speaking to reporters in Italy last week, Mr Higgins accused Israel of breaking international law.

The Irish President did.

"To announce in advance that you will break international law and to do so on an innocent population, it reduces all the code that was there from second world war on protection of civilians and it reduces it to tatters," Mr Higgins said.
Let me make it clear that I think Sunak is a fucking bellend but on this issue, he's not saying anything much different to what the leaders of most other countries are saying.

So that's Scotland and Ireland. Fair play to them but there are plenty of much larger, more influential Western countries and they all seem to be coming out with a similar line of "Israel has a right to defend itself, but....."

The problem for America and Europe in their rush to defend Israel it appears to the Arab and Muslim street that their lives don’t matter, they’ve given Iran and the other fanatics a massive boost, again cooler more experienced heads need to prevail instead of dog whistle politics

If there is a major war, allies in that region will be needed and the support of the people vital, this whole bloody mess could get even messier and it will affect us all in one way or another

I'm becoming increasingly troubled by how easy it seems to be to will the punishing of folk for speech "crimes".

I'm not sure there's actually a lot countries who are against a Ceasefire and still want the bombing to carry on. Yanks, UK?

“We’re interested in seeing branches and sequels,” a US official said, using American military terminology referring to different battle plans and post-invasion scenarios.

“There is a direct connection between the management of the war and the ‘morning after’. It’s supposed to inform the military operation. Right now it’s disconnected.”

The US Army describes a FRAGPLAN as planning "branches and sequels". A branch is a contingency plan or "options built into the base plan" whereas a sequel refers to "subsequent operations based on the possible outcomes of the current operation"
