It was your sticking up for the clueless ref and saying we got what we deserved that pissed me off!!
We had 3 great chances to score nad they had fuck all, so how come we deserved to lose?
We lost our way second half, but we kept fighting which many on here seem to not realise. I don't mind losing, just can't stand being cheated!!
Cant blame the ref for the way we played 2nd half but he gave us nothing, and them everything.
Even leading up to the penatly he gave a free kick against Jo when Jo was having his shirt tugged, then the striker was offside when Richards pulled him down. Its just not the ref, the linesmen have been dire for years now.

The momentum was not carried into the second half, then we couldn't string 5 passes together, then they kept attacking, closing down, adding pressure and in the end took their chance to score. Yes we had 3 good chances to score but its no good saying that because we didn't score any of them and if you waste good chances and play poorly, well, you don't deserve to win do you?

Not seen any of the play or kept up with the match day centre - turned on to find we'd lost to another side which, before today, were down in the depths. We have always come a cropper against sides we should beat, and I don't go along with this crap of every match being difficult. Teams are clearly better than others, the style of play is different and it is that the panoply of coaches are meant to overcome.
But I did fall for the sucker punch in thinking yesterday that 'if we beat Sunderland we will have 7pts and we should be third if we have a good win'. When will I learn?

If a team with Champions League (and title) ambitions cannot go to a place like Sunderland and dominate possession (we did!) and use it to score goals (we did NOT!), then we get what we deserve.
I am ABSOLUTELY apoplectic that
a) Dean decided the game with a penalty in injury time for a "foul" on an "offside" player who had NO CHANCE of EVER reaching the ball, and
b) Richards is such a dumb fuck
c) Mancini is playing "Chelsea/Arsenal/United/Liverpool/Spurs away" tactics at Sunderland!
My question now is whether he will have the balls to sit Tevez in the League, because he is NOT a lone striker, OR whether he will play with FORWARDS and attack the fuck out of teams that should not be in the game by half time?!
The time to stroke the ball around at the back is to relieve pressure and to kill the game off when you are two up....NOT when you are struggling to get on the score sheet! Bringing Adebayor on with 12 minutes to go, and Jo coming on in fucking injury tome is ADMITTING YOUR MISTAKE!
Now, Roberto, get your finger out and FIX the attacking problems. Fucking Silva is getting 10 minutes to have an effect? WTF? By 55 minutes, it should have been clear that simply pushing Yaya up to support Tevez was NOT working and that we needed to take off Lescott and AJ, put Barry in the LB/LM slot, put De Jong and Yaya in front of the back four, and put Silva and Milner on the wings and Adebayor upfront with Tevez to play off.
In fact, THAT would be MY starting XI for almost every game!!!
