Mike Dean

Well it's definitely both A and B but C wouldn't surprise me at all.

I once joked that my maths teacher shouldn't have his phone in class. A shit joke but I was about 12 and it wasn't intended as anything more than light hearted. He sent me out of the classroom for the rest of my lesson and made me catch up on the work after school.

He's like that guy but with a bolstered ego that his minor celebrity has afforded him and he's going to be even more tedious when he hangs up his whistle and releases his book or makes appearances on trashy comedy shows.

Fuck you Mr Bradshaw Mike Dean.

Mate is a steward at Oldham in the away end. When they played Tranmere this year he said Dean was stood on his seat haranguing the ref at every opportunity. When told to stop standing on the seat he repeatedly told the stewards to f##k off. The only reason they didn't throw him out was because they suspected that was what he wanted

This man reaches levels of cringe that are beyond human consumption. I really wish he would fuck off and retire and PLEASE FOR FUCK SAKE NOT ENTER THE REALM OF MEDIA.

There were some odd decisions with some good tackles by both sides that were blown up for fouls, which I thought strange. Some advantages worked and some didn't. A couple of players on either side could have been booked but weren't....it was just a weird performance from Dean all round to be honest. Decisions for both sides had me scratching my head.

I'd like to see the Zinchenko incident again for the corner that brought their goal. First impression 'live' I just said it's a foul....looking at the replay last night from a different angle maybe the Villa player (was it Young??) was clever and rammed his shoulder into Zinch, dunno....very marginal. That said, fuck me we should be defending the corner better, no excuse on that once the corner is given. But the pen claim for Jesus wasn't a pen (IMO) and neither was the pen claim on the Villa player. I think both decisions were correct. If Gerrard thinks they should have had a pen then he really is clutching at straws.

But for all we are calling Dean a c*nt and VAR is rigged etc etc, that penalty claim on the Villa player was a perfect moment when ref and VAR could have fucked us over. If Dean had called it a pen - and it would have been easy to give it given how close Ake got - I doubt VAR would have overturned it as a 'clear and obvious error'. But he didn't give it, so at least I give him some credit for that.
Seems like there's a lot of hysteria about Mike Dean. It wasn't a particularly great performance by him but as you say, if they really wanted to fuck us over he would have given them a pen for the incident you mention.

I spoke to my mate who's a Villa ST holder and unsurprisingly he saw the refereeing performance in completely the opposite manner to many blues. It all depends what colour people's specs are tinted.

There hasn't been Obstruction in the laws for 20 years, and when it was in the laws you were not committing it if the ball is in playing distance.
The fact that he sat on the ground with both his legs over the ball so that, without fouling him, City could not get the ball is no longer obstruction ?
I bow to your knowledge but it seems stupid.
