Millwall v city Rivalry

We were the biggest club in the 2nd division so it brought all their knobheads and clingers on out.

Then the return leg quite a few turned up who weren't city fans as they were bringing a load up for a 're-match'.

I.e. dickheads from London and Manchester used it for some andrenalin rush, it was nowt to do with the clubs.

We played them away twice in a week in the 80's (one leage and one cup game) if memory serves correct and I think it all started there.

Played them 4 times in a couple of weeks 89/90, first league then FA Cup and 2 replays. The first was an easy 2-0 home win, the second 0-0 at home Lake hit cross bar, third away 1-1 with Hendry playing up front at the end glanced in a header from 15 yards, then we lost the toss and had to go back for the 3rd replay and it got wasted 3-1, think Sheringham and Cascerino some damage.

I went to the first two, don't think anything happened.

That's the one. I did not go, so only providing second hand info, but a friend of mine in the Royal Engineers described at length some of the nonesense after the match away from the old Den. Always assumed that's why the rivalry was so intense.

as far as i remember it was a few seasons before we had to play there with no away tickets,we gave them a good thrashing on there own patch and i'm not on about the football, ofcourse just a spectator

round about 84 city had a night game in london.a decent sity crew "ran into millwall" near london bridge,we were not playing millwall that night. anyway, millwall won second prize without a doubt, they deny it because of their reputation but then they would would'nt they? it deffo started then.
