We played them away twice in a week in the 80's (one leage and one cup game) if memory serves correct and I think it all started there.

Played them 4 times in a couple of weeks 89/90, first league then FA Cup and 2 replays. The first was an easy 2-0 home win, the second 0-0 at home Lake hit cross bar, third away 1-1 with Hendry playing up front at the end glanced in a header from 15 yards, then we lost the toss and had to go back for the 3rd replay and it got wasted 3-1, think Sheringham and Cascerino some damage.

I went to the first two, don't think anything happened.

To be fair, Millwall away was a bit scary. I went to the 3rd game with some mates. It was a Monday night if memory serves and I borrowed my mums brand new car and lied about where I was going. We set off at dinnertime but it was dark when we got there and there weren't many City fans about as we parked up. We walked back up Coldblow Lane and there were railway arches which you had to go through to get to the away end. They were pitch black and with gangs of lads hanging about, it had you on your toes.
City had a fair turnout and we could have won the game right at the death. I'm sure it was Clive Allen that missed a cross into the 6 yard box by a whisker. We all trooped out at full time but we seemed to be the only ones walking away from the Old Kent Road as most City fans had obviously got the train. I was praying the car was ok and dreading the journey home when a minibus full of skinheads pulled up at the kerb and this monster asked me what the score was. I didn't want my accent to give me away, so I shrugged my shoulders and walked on. Behind me was Marco, who I haven't seen for years (PM me if you're on here mate). He got asked the same question and obviously had the same thoughts as me. He thinks for a second, puts his glasses in his top pocket and throws both his arms out in front of him with fingers pointing upwards like an Aussie Rules referee, to signal the score. I am now sprinting and pissing myself at the same time.
Next up was Woody, who now runs a pub in Rochdale. He defines the word "puddled". He starts to give them a match report with phrases like" stuffy London c*nts" and "Cockney jokers", oblivious to the rest of us screaming at him from the inside of the car with me revving the balls off it and praying that the penny drops and he gets in the fucking car and we dont all get killed. It finally dawned on him as the back doors were opening and he ran to the car and we screeched away.
That was nigh on 20 years ago. I'm 43 now and it's memories like these that are the soul of the club, Mr.Schindler. Not your pretentious scribblings. If the Sheikh decides he's had enough in a few years and we end up destitute, I'll go and watch us in the conference. Even at Millwall.

i remember when we played them at home was it 99, i was sitiin in the north stand near one of the tunnel entrances and through out the first half, one by one these lads kept comin in and heading towards the top right hand corner, right next to the millwall fans until there was about 50 all standing in a space where there was about 10 seats!! me and my brother were like, where they all comin from? LOL! it was weird how the stewards weren't doin nothin about it, but then would you get involved?? you could just feel the tension rising, i was shittin it i was only about 15!

if anyone hasnt seen the documentary on sky called hooligans, i suggest you dont if your of a nervous disposition, it was a three parter the second was mostly about millwall, it was totally scary one young lad was walking through the railway arches whod left half an hour before the end probably due to fright and they absolutley pummled him, all shown on tv? they are probably the most dangerous fans on this planet, when they came up for there shindig with city two hundred got off at stockport and chased all the rags off the station, then down into the centre, who were waiting to go to notts forest, dont think they liked it at city thoe they got more than they could chew mcintyre was shitting it saying its the scariest situation hes ever encounterd? millwall away should come with government health warning?

i live in millwall country at the moment and its alright tbh good fans round here, millwall palace and charlton all up for a good bit of banter well chuffed weve got palace in the worthless

I went to Millwall game back in about 87/88 a week after the 10-1 win, went on a coach firm selector travel, based in the arndale bus station, when we got to tower bridge the police boarded the bus and told us City fans had ambushed Millwall at the train station and Millwall were not to pleased about this, and asked us if we wanted to carry on to the ground or go back...... anyway off to the ground we went and there was only one other caoch their (supports club coach). We got in the ground and i can honestly say we shit ourselves.... Millwall fans spent the whole 90 mins trying to get over the fence at us, and to top it all Tony Adcock went down the other end of the pitch and bloody scored...... oh no we thought....we never win away, why now!!!!!!! Everyone just looked at one another, no one cheered, just a few claps and that was all. We won one nil and i've never been so glad to get back to Manchester.
